Role Overview

The Senior Technical Sales Manager, Fusion Fusion PLM leads and develops a high-performing team of Technical Specialists (TSs) focused on driving customer value, technical validation, and revenue growth across Autodesk Fusion and emerging solution areas. This role owns the technical sales strategy, ensures tight alignment with sales forecasting and account priorities, and provides structured insights and feedback to senior leadership. The Senior Manager operates as a strategic partner to Sales, Customer Success, and Product, influencing outcomes across regions, industries, and solution portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Team Performance

  • Develop, coach, and lead a team of Technical Specialists to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and quotas.

  • Manage work primarily through senior-level individual contributors and/or managers responsible for multiple related teams.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centric technical selling.

Technical Sales Strategy & Orchestration

  • Own the overall technical sales strategy, orchestration, and execution aligned to account priorities and deal motions.

  • Drive technical engagement models that optimize pipeline coverage, deal quality, and win rates across emerging technologies and industries.

  • Ensure technical validation plans are realistic, risk-aware, and aligned to customer timelines.

Forecasting & Business Alignment

  • Align technical sales insights with sales team forecasts, ensuring accurate technical risk assessment and timeline validation.

  • Partner with Sales leadership to support predictable pipeline execution and revenue outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead technical sellers in close partnership with Account Executives, Sales Specialists, and Emerging Technology sales teams.

  • Work with Customer Success to ensure end-to-end technical success and effective resource orchestration.

  • Support Sales Managers in validating expansion and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.

Customer Engagement & Value Engineering

  • Ensure excellence in discovery, solution demonstrations, benchmarks, evaluations, and technical proof points.

  • Drive value engineering and ROI-based selling approaches, including technical objection handling and commercial alignment.

  • Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with customers and partners.

Insights & Executive Feedback

  • Aggregate insights from technical sales activity to deliver structured, strategic feedback to leadership.

  • Identify trends related to customer needs, competitive dynamics, and product opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or pre-sales roles within SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environments.

  • 5+ years of people management experience leading senior individual contributors and/or managers.

  • Demonstrated experience aligning technical sales strategy to revenue goals and forecast accuracy.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate customer challenges into technical and commercial solutions.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting product development, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial software solutions (CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM, or related domains).

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Fusion or similar integrated design and manufacturing platforms.

  • Experience scaling technical sales motions across multiple regions, industries, or emerging solution areas.

  • Background in value engineering, ROI modeling, or complex enterprise deal support.

  • MBA or advanced technical degree (engineering, computer science, or related field).

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $192,200 and $344,520. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
