Our mission is to enable smarter decisions, reduce inefficiencies, and improve patient outcomes across the healthcare ecosystem.We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Project Manager who will own end-to-end delivery of large, complex initiatives within the Truven Health Insights product suite. This leader will drive execution across multiple engineering teams, operational groups, and data pipelines, creating structure where needed and ensuring measurable outcomes. You will be expected to take initiative, establish accountability, and push projects forward in ambiguous and evolving environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the planning, execution, and successful delivery of enterprise-scale projects, building detailed project plans, proactively identifying risks, and ensuring milestones are met.
- Create, maintain, and enforce detailed project plans, ensuring risks and dependencies are surfaced early, addressed quickly, and communicated transparently to leadership.
- Own end-to-end delivery of initiatives by driving alignment across technical and business stakeholders. Translate strategic goals into actionable tasks, build project plans, and hold teams accountable for execution.
- Establish and lead operating rhythms (standups, cross-functional syncs, retrospectives, leadership reviews) that ensure clear accountability and unblock issues rapidly.
- Partner with Product Managers to align execution with roadmap priorities and delivery targets.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, enforce clear escalation pathways, and provide transparent status updates, ensuring leadership has confidence in delivery progress.
- Lead delivery of initiatives involving ETL pipelines, BI/reporting, Azure infrastructure, data quality, and internal tooling, ensuring technical teams are aligned and obstacles are removed.
- Standardize project workflows, documentation, and reporting using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience with a proven record of leading enterprise-scale initiatives from inception through delivery. Prior experience in healthcare, life sciences, or enterprise SaaS strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure), and Agile software development lifecycles.
- Demonstrated success owning and driving delivery across multiple scrum teams, aligning competing priorities, and ensuring cross-functional accountability.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, structure unformed problems, remove blockers decisively, and drive distributed teams to resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of creating clarity in ambiguous, high-change environments and mobilizing cross-functional teams toward common goals.
- Experience managing data-centric projects involving ETL workflows, data warehousing, and data quality assurance.
- Familiarity with healthcare data formats and domains (e.g., claims, eligibility, EMR).
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
- Proficiency with project and collaboration tools: Jira, Smartsheet, Trello, Asana; Confluence, Notion, SharePoint.
- Technical literacy in: Azure services (e.g., Data Factory, Blob Storage, SQL Database); Data formats (CSV, JSON, HL7, FHIR); APIs, DevOps, CI/CD concepts.
- Relevant certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe (preferred but not required).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related technical field required.
- Master’s degree in business administration, health informatics, or related field preferred.
Travel & Location
- Preferred: Ann Arbor Michigan or Raleigh North Carolina but all U.S. locations will be considered.
- Travel will vary based on the candidate’s location and is estimated at 25–30%.
