About the Role

We’re hiring Sully.ai’s first Senior Technical Project Manager — a cornerstone addition to our Engineering team. You’ll collaborate directly with our Head of Engineering and Co-Founder/CEO to architect and operationalize the systems, governance, and tooling that enable our AI-driven Clinical Agents Platform to scale. This Bay Area–based role offers a rare opportunity to define the playbook, drive execution, and build from 0→1 on our mission to save lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish Project Governance: Design and own a cross-phase governance cadence (design → build → launch), leading sprints, standups, retrospectives, and weekly reviews.

  • Drive Technical Execution: Translate strategic inputs into scoped engineering tickets; run database operations, automation scripts, and manage our AI Agent Suite (Scribe, Interpreter, Receptionist, Apogee).

  • Build 0→1 Processes: Define and document workflows from intake to deployment, iterating continuously for speed and quality.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure operational alignment and transparency.

  • Mitigate Risk & Communicate Status: Identify risks early, build mitigation plans, and deliver crisp progress reports directly to our Co-Founders.

Hard Requirements

  • 6+ years managing complex technical projects, ideally as a Founder/Co-Founder or early TPM hire.

  • Strong technical acumen across SQL/NoSQL, scripting (Python, Bash), and system architecture.

  • Experience with Agile delivery tools (JIRA, Confluence) and CI/CD frameworks.

  • Proven record of building and scaling project governance and execution frameworks from scratch.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with executive presence.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience at high-growth, early-stage startups.

  • Familiarity with AI or healthcare software systems.

  • Exposure to database optimization, cloud infrastructure, or platform reliability.

First-Month Focus

  • Audit existing engineering project workflows and delivery cadences.

  • Define and roll out Sully.ai’s first project governance framework.

  • Stand up a robust reporting and tracking system for timelines, dependencies, and risks.

Success OKRs (90 Days)

  • Implement a standardized, cross-phase project delivery cadence across all engineering teams.

  • Achieve 100% visibility into timelines, blockers, and resource allocation.

  • Deliver the first engineering project from scope to launch using the new governance model.

Culture Fit

  • Persistent, driven problem solver.

  • Willing to push back on leadership to defend quality/timelines.

  • Thrives in high-ambiguity, fast-paced startup environments.
