We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives within the Truven Health Insights product suite. This role will oversee delivery efforts that span multiple engineering teams, operational groups, and data pipelines. You will ensure coordinated execution, clear communication, and disciplined project delivery across all phases of the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale technical projects involving engineering squads, data platforms, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including milestones, risks, and dependencies.
  • Serve as the central coordination point between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating strategic goals into actionable tasks.
  • Facilitate regular project cadences: standups, cross-functional syncs, retrospectives, and stakeholder updates.
  • Partner with Product Managers to align execution with roadmap priorities and delivery targets.
  • Drive proactive risk management, clear escalation pathways, and status transparency for leadership.
  • Support delivery of initiatives involving ETL pipelines, BI/reporting, Azure infrastructure, data quality, and internal tooling.
  • Standardize project workflows, documentation, and reporting using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technical project or program management, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure), and Agile software development lifecycles.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating projects across multiple scrum teams with high cross-functional complexity.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify blockers, propose solutions, and drive accountability in distributed teams.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing data-centric projects involving ETL workflows, data warehousing, and data quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data formats and domains (e.g., claims, eligibility, EMR).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
  • Proficiency with project and collaboration tools: Jira, Smartsheet, Trello, Asana; Confluence, Notion, SharePoint.
  • Technical literacy in: Azure services (e.g., Data Factory, Blob Storage, SQL Database); Data formats (CSV, JSON, HL7, FHIR); APIs, DevOps, CI/CD concepts.
  • Relevant certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe (preferred but not required).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related technical field required.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, health informatics, or related field preferred.

Travel & Location

  • Preferred: Ann Arbor Michigan or Raleigh North Carolina but all U.S. locations will be considered.
  • Travel will vary based on the candidate’s location and is estimated at 25–30%.
