The Atlassian Global Events team drives customer engagement for the Atlassian brand and its portfolio of products. The Senior Team Lead, Industry & Third Party Events and Trade Shows will be responsible for developing the Atlassian third party event strategy, building new and optimizing existing programs with the goal of maximizing impact, and driving integrated event strategies that connect teams across the business. This individual will also support overall Global Events strategic initiatives, measurement, and long-term planning. They must have a proven track record of hiring and leading a best-in-class team of talented, highly effective event marketers, preferably at a high-growth company. This role requires an enthusiastic individual with strong communication and organizational skills to lead the team in planning, marketing, and executing our Tier 1 third party sponsored event programs at scale. The candidate should also have a passion for developing strong relationships with their sales and marketing stakeholders and thrive on creating innovative, out-of-the-box event third party event experiences.

Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $153,900 - $205,200
Zone B: $138,500 - $184,700
Zone C: $127,700 - $170,300

In this role, you will:
- Third Party Event Strategy: Collaborate with GTM leaders and marketing teams to develop the global third party event strategy that aligns with overall business priorities, strategy and branding. You know how to think about overall third party event design and sponsorship negotiation, ensuring each event will drive demand gen activity, generate high quality lead volume and achieve measurable results. You will be tasked with building and refining a fully optimized third party event program strategy based on our core target audiences, historical program performance, defined operating models and fiscal year priorities. You will be responsible for fiscal year planning across all Engagement Marketing third party events, and be accountable for tracking budget targets throughout the year.
- Team Management: This role will build, develop and manage a high-performing team of three. The ideal candidate has experience creating best practice toolkits and templates at scale, including managing agency partnerships as needed for event execution. As a team lead, you will be tasked with mentoring team members to support their professional development by fostering a dynamic team environment that encourages growth and collaboration.
- Event Execution: In this coach-player role, you will be the primary event lead, for assigned programs and be accountable for the management of end-to-end event execution of those event. This includes executing all programs with operational excellence, managing program budgets, stakeholders management, shipping, booth builds, booth traffic and engagement activities, and other event logistics.
- Event measurement: Create measurement criteria and manage feedback loop with cross-functional teams to continually measure program effectiveness - define and refine event metrics as part of aligned to team and marketing objectives and key results. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to continually refine measurement best practices and reporting.
- Campaign management & lead generation: Execute event programs that obtain new leads, create net-new sales opportunities, accelerate existing sales opportunities and deepen our existing customer relationships. Strategize, build and execute integrated field campaigns by partnering with the Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) team, performance marketing, and others on the execution. This includes helping drive lead follow-up plans and handling, lead nurturing based on the products and/or solutions messaged at an event and working with CLM and sales on tracking ROI and metrics at each event.
- Product expertise and booth staffing: As the driver of assigned trade shows, product expertise and / or technically thinking / speaking abilities are required to engage with customers and prospects at a high-level to help generate leads and drive traffic to the booth for the programs assigned. This also requires the ability to travel to show-site for all program days, work the expo floor, and have an active role in booth staffing.
Your background:
- 10+ years of third party trade show and sponsorship experience (preferably in high tech)
- 5+ years managing a team of 4 or more people
- Proven track record of building/managing high-performing teams
- Experience having pipeline building responsibility and accountability for sales
- Experience building new event programs, documentation, and enablement of cross-functional teams at scale
- Direct experience and ownership of producing various-sized events and budgets
- Strong background in data management/analytics and metrics and reporting out to key stakeholders
- Project management expertise
- Resourceful, self-starter with a sense of urgency and strong work ethic
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, work independently, solve problems, improvise, and collaborate under pressure.
- Experience building strong relationships with internal and external partners remoetely
- Experience working in an international marketing org, and an understanding of the importance of localization by market
- Comfortable learning and using new software tools
- Accept changes with short notice
- Superb prioritization skills to individually detect and deliver the most important things first
