Senior Tax Provision Analyst - Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)

Then it's time to join Western Union as a Senior Analyst of Tax Provision and Technology.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and/or review various consolidated income tax provision calculations monthly, quarterly and annually for the consolidated corporate and subsidiary entities using CorpTax Provision. 
  • Prepare and/or review income tax account reconciliations using Orace/HFM.  
  • Prepare and/or review the analysis and documentation of uncertain tax positions, deferred tax items, and M&A related tax impacts. 
  • Collaborate with the tax compliance and accounting teams on gathering and analyzing their respective inputs for the quarterly and year-end income tax provision. 
  • Prepare and/or review tax disclosures in the quarterly and annual financial statements and assist in preparing presentations to the Head of Tax, CFO and auditors. 
  • Train and develop other income tax team members on tax provision technical items and best practices on the use of the income tax provision software and other data automation tools (i.e. Alteryx, etc.) 
  • Assist in providing support documentation and explanations of calculations and disclosures to the external and internal audit teams. 
  • Assist in the execution and documentation and internal control obligations under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. 
  • Assist with updating and presenting tax forecasts and scenario models to the Head of Tax, CFO, and other executives.  
  • Assist in technical research projects to support tax planning and other business initiatives. 
  • Identify opportunities to build additional analytic and management review tools.  
  • Complete other assigned special projects with various teams across the organization. 

Role Requirements 

  • 2-5 years corporate income tax experience, Big 4 and/or large public company experience strongly preferred 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or tax  
  • CPA and Master’s degree in tax or accounting strongly preferred 
  • Intermediate/Advanced – Tax Provision and Compliance 
  • Intermediate/Advanced – Managerial, organization and communication skills 
  • Intermediate/Advanced – Excel skills 
  • Intermediate – Tax Research skills, including written analysis 
  • Intermediate – Knowledge of CorpTax and Oracle/HFM systems

Salary 

The base salary range is $95,000 – 125,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
