About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join a growing team and take on a high-impact, multifaceted role. This is not a review-only position — the right candidate will be involved in client acquisition, relationship management, high-complexity return preparation and review, tax planning, and team leadership. The firm is looking for someone who can operate at a senior level independently while also contributing to the growth of the practice and the development of junior staff.
This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who is client-oriented, analytically driven, and ready to take on meaningful ownership within a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead client acquisition efforts, converting prospective clients into active engagements and managing onboarding from start to finish
Serve as the primary relationship owner for an established and growing book of individual and business clients, coordinating with their outside advisors as needed
Prepare and review high-complexity tax returns for individuals and businesses, including fiduciary returns where applicable
Drive proactive tax planning conversations focused on client tax savings and ongoing opportunities
Research complex tax issues and develop well-reasoned resolutions
Manage project workflow and prioritize across multiple engagements simultaneously
Supervise and develop a staff of 2–4 team members, including staffing assignments and day-to-day oversight
Apply strong data analytics and problem-solving skills to client situations with an organized, methodical approach
Requirements
5+ years of public accounting experience in individual and business taxation
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation a plus
CPA or EA preferred
Prior experience managing client engagements and leading staff
Fiduciary taxation experience is a plus
Proficiency with ProFx or Access Tax preferred; experience with Word, Excel, QuickBooks (online and desktop), Adobe Pro, CFS Payroll, and BNA strongly preferred
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a team
