The Senior Systems Engineer will design, integrate, and support mission-critical satellite operations systems, ensuring secure and efficient execution across the systems engineering lifecycle.
Overview
We’re hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support a space weather satellite mission operations program, focused on designing and integrating mission-critical systems. This role combines satellite operations, command & control systems, and hybrid cloud infrastructure, supporting secure, scalable solutions for real-world space missions.
What You’ll Do- Design and integrate command & control (C2) and mission management systems for satellite operations
- Architect and support hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + cloud) for mission-critical applications
- Execute across the full systems engineering lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, verification, operations)
- Ensure secure deployment of applications in compliance-driven environments
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (software, cyber, network, operations)
- Implement automation and orchestration solutions to improve system performance and reliability
- Support networking and data management architectures across distributed systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues impacting mission operations
- 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience supporting satellite operations or space-based systems
- Strong background in command & control systems and mission operations environments
- Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud infrastructures (on-prem + AWS/Azure/GovCloud)
- Solid understanding of networking (secure architectures, routing/switching), systems integration, and data management
- Experience with automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Experience deploying and supporting mission-critical applications in secure environments
- Familiarity with space system protocols and satellite communications
- Experience in DoD, aerospace, or classified environments
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST and ITAR
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices in regulated environments
