Red Canyon Software is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer III to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS).  The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions.  The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protects life and property. 

Requirements:

  • 4-9+ years of experience in integration and test of enterprise-information systems with a focus on Command and Control and completing test verification and validation on those delivered systems.
  • Hands-on experience of test or integration of Software developed in C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and No SQL
  • Familiarity with Windows and LINUX systems.
  • Experience in mapping requirements into Test Procedures and development of detailed Test Procedures. 
  • Conducted verification testing of a deployed/integrated software/hardware based system as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of existing NOAA Supported Satellite Command and Control Software such as OS/COMET or JPSS CGS knowledge.
  • Experience supporting large scale test execution events while employing traditional I&T test approaches (i.e. RVTM, Meaningful Test Metrics, Test Reporting)
  • Familiarity (ideal but not required) with the NASA/NOAA SE processes
  • Experience in cross functional disciplines to include (RMA, SMA, Systems Security, Metrics, Trade Analysis, Mission Systems, Integrated Logistics)
  • Familiarity with JIRA for work tracking and planning activities.
