The Space Systems Command (SSC) Technical Support (STS) 3rd Follow-on (STS-3) contract provides acquisition, technical, and engineering support to the U.S. Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Battle Management Command, Control & Communications Sustainment (BCS).
BCS acquires services to modernize and sustain the Satellite Control Network (SCN). We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in networking, software, and cybersecurity to join the BCS STS-3 contract supporting the SCN government team.
Duties include:
Providing systems engineering and integration technical support for satellite communications network systems including Telemetry, Tracking & Control (TT&C), scheduling, communications, and associated systems
Perform engineering of system architectures, requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification
Analyze user needs and requirements to plan architecture
Review and assess contractor designs and conduct trade studies on alternative system design approaches
Support development of and review all levels of planning guidance in support of cyber operations
Support planning in system of systems engineering, integrating networks, databases, and software
Provide analysis and recommendations on how to mitigate POAM line items
Qualifications Required (Skills)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
Strong knowledge and background with architecture, systems and subsystem requirements, systems engineering processes, and development and maintenance of CONOPS
Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, define potential solutions, and conduct in-depth technical analysis, assessments and trades, and explain results of technical studies in a systems engineering context
Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
Demonstrated understanding of performance and requirements analysis techniques, and acceptance testing strategies/methodologies
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and methods that apply to software development and implementing a Zero Trust architecture
An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required for this position. You must be a U.S. Citizen.
Qualifications Desired
Working knowledge of the Satellite Control Network (SCN) or similar DoD program
Security+, CISSP, CCNA, or similar relevant certification
Communications and software system architecture experience
ASCA experience
Current TS/SCI clearance
