POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the long-term strategic direction of Alterra Mountain Company. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic opportunities, improve enterprise performance, and support high-impact value creation initiatives. They will be a hands-on partner to Resort Presidents, helping identify, design, and implement initiatives to drive growth, enhance guest experience, improve operational effectiveness, and allocate capital at Alterra Mountain Company’s owned resorts. The role requires a highly analytical, collaborative, and self-starting individual who thrives in fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Strategic Analysis and Planning
Support the company’s long-range strategic and annual operating planning processes, including partnering directly with Resort Presidents and business unit leaders to develop their plans
Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and other analyses to inform corporate, business unit, and resort-level strategies
Provide insights and recommendations to inform enterprise capital allocation, resource prioritization, and business portfolio decisions
Value Creation
Work with Resort Presidents and senior leaders to identify and quantify initiatives to drive growth, improve operating efficiency, and increase capital efficiency
Build financial and operating models to inform key strategic decisions, including those pertaining to product strategy, pricing optimization, distribution strategy, and more
Drive high-impact, cross-functional Priority Programs from business case development through program design and execution
Company & Market Analysis
Conduct in-depth analysis on ski and travel industry trends to uncover changes in competitive dynamics and identify emerging threats and opportunities
Work alongside business unit leaders to analyze company value drivers and identify and share best practices across the organization
Build and maintain KPI dashboards and reports, and ensure successful value capture across Priority Programs
Executive Leadership Team & Board of Directors Support
Create clear, compelling presentation materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and interim updates
Translate complex analyses into concise narratives and decision frameworks for the Executive Leadership Team
Tackle high-priority, time-sensitive questions from senior leadership, flexing across topics and functions as business needs evolve
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required (coursework in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field a plus)
2-5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy; exposure to ski, travel, and leisure industries a plus but not required
Direct experience with growth-oriented projects (value creation, market segmentation, competitive analysis, pre- or post-strategic transaction assessment)
SKILL REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Complete business analyst toolkit, including skills in research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, written and verbal communications, and project management
Exceptional strengths in business presentations (including slide design and data visualization) and quantitative modeling (including financial modeling and scenario analyses)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex topics into clear narratives, recommendations, and action items
Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams
Hypothesis-driven, structured problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel will be required for this position approximately 20% of the year in the U.S. and Canada

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $100,000 - $140,000
