The Senior Strategic Finance Manager will lead financial planning, analysis, and contribute strategically to company decisions, support organizational growth, and aid in fundraising efforts.
Role Overview: The Strategic Finance Manager will be a pivotal player at testRigor, bridging the gap between financial performance and strategic decision-making. You'll be responsible for robust financial planning, insightful business analysis, and actively contributing to company-wide strategy, organizational building, and critical fundraising efforts. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)- Financial Reporting & Management: Own the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accurate and timely reporting to leadership, supporting critical decision-making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of the company's operating budget and dynamic financial forecasts. Collaborate closely with department heads to build detailed plans and track performance against targets.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for various business scenarios, including revenue projections, expense analysis, unit economics, and profitability assessments for new initiatives.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and project company cash flow, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to optimize liquidity and working capital.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as we grow.
- Company Strategy Contribution: Actively participate in strategic planning discussions, providing financial insights, market analysis, and data-driven recommendations to help shape company-wide initiatives and objectives. Translate strategic goals into actionable financial and operational plans.
- Business Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of key financial and operational metrics (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities for efficiency, and areas for improvement across the business (e.g., customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, churn rates, sales funnel efficiency, product usage).
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a strategic financial partner to functional leaders (Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering), providing them with insightful analysis, custom dashboards, and data-backed recommendations to optimize their departmental performance and resource allocation.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Design and implement clear, compelling dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate complex financial and operational data in an easily digestible format for all stakeholders.
- Organizational Building: Provide financial and analytical support for organizational planning, including headcount modeling, compensation analysis, and evaluating the financial impact of team growth. Help define key resource needs to achieve strategic goals.
- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Prepare detailed financial schedules, conduct in-depth data analyses, and contribute to investor presentations and data rooms for fundraising activities. May participate in select investor discussions as a financial subject matter expert, demonstrating a clear understanding of our business model and growth trajectory.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or CFA certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in a highly analytical finance or strategy role, such as FP&A, corporate finance, management consulting, or a similar strategic finance position, preferably within a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis, with a strong understanding of SaaS business models and key metrics.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to contribute to strategic initiatives with data-driven insights.
- Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Spreadsheets (complex financial models, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint (compelling presentations). Experience with financial reporting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio) is highly desirable.
