We’re looking for an inquisitive, data-driven, and hands-on professional to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team as Senior Strategic Finance Analyst.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a company on the verge of becoming the household name in consumer credit cards for the 50% of Americans who are not served by traditional financial institutions.

The Impact You’ll Make:

You’ll drive forward our mission of empowering people to unlock financial progress by owning and significantly enhancing our monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes, leveraging our new FP&A platform to deliver automated and insightful executive and management reports, and beginning to translate complex financial data into compelling narratives that drive business decisions during a critical and exciting period of company growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Own monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting responsibilities for FP&A, including executive and management reports, and quarterly board assessments.
  • Implement and expand capabilities of our new FP&A platform in an effort to streamline processes and ensure reporting is automated and strategic focused.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders across Finance, Capital Markets, Treasury, Accounting, and business teams (Credit, Growth, Operations) to understand forecast drivers and collect budget inputs and assumptions.
  • Contribute to value-add strategic analyses and initiatives, including but not limited to potential deep dives into vertical performance or broader forecasting efforts.
  • Support and ultimately lead efforts in budgeting and financial forecasting, including expense, reserves, and short-term cash modeling as you grow in the role.
  • Use data as an investigative tool to drive efficiencies and analyze performance variance.

Who You Are

  • You're a curious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to learn and contribute independently.
  • You embrace a "0-1 build mentality" and have a track record of building analyses and reports from the ground up.
  • You're an adaptable and proactive problem-solver who can balance strategic priorities with tactical execution.
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic analytics, business analytics, or investment banking within the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Familiarity with GAAP financial statements.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
  • Ability to use data as an investigative tool to drive efficiencies and analyze performance variance.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex financial projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the consumer credit industry.
  • Previous experience using EPM tools (e.g., Workday Adaptive, OneStream, Oracle, SAP, etc.), especially in implementing or enhancing them.
  • Previous experience modeling all 3 financial statements.
  • Familiarity with ACL reserves and CECL accounting standard.
  • Experience with data analytics in Python or R.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and other AI tools.

Compensation:

Annual full-time base salary range: $118,000 - $140,000

Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program and equity are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role. Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes unlimited paid time off, 401(k) match, a monthly wellness stipend, health/ dental/ vision insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare), life insurance, and a remote-friendly work environment.

About Mission Lane:

Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

It all started with a realization:  nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.

In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit.

To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.

Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.
