Are you ready to unlock intelligence?

If you don’t think you meet all of the criteria below but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box - we’re looking for candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas, and have some interest and capabilities in others.

Why this role?

We're building Konnect Developer Portal, a gateway-agnostic API & AI portal that lets developers and non-technical teams create and publish interfaces for consumption. It's one of the fastest growing products in the Konnect platform, and already running at some of the world's top brands, across internal, partner, and public audiences, serving billions of API calls a month.

The portal is where APIs and AI get productized, so they can be documented, marketed, and made self-service. The goal is a low-friction path from source to published API product, for every persona involved.

As Senior Staff Product Manager, you'll own key surfaces in that journey, starting with developer self-service. This is how developers get into a portal, find the interfaces they need, retrieve credentials, get approvals where required, and call the APIs, MCP servers, and LLM models their applications depend on.

Making that work end to end means connecting several threads. You'll bring together developer and application auth (authentication and authorization), automatic and declarative configuration across gateway runtimes, analytics and monetization, and a modular UX that lets portal owners tailor workflows and branding to their own audiences.

Developer self-service spans multiple product lines across Konnect, plus platform capabilities owned by other teams. You'll manage those stakeholder relationships and align on a roadmap which features deliver the most impact.

Who's a good fit?

You understand what makes developers tick. You've worked in SaaS or on developer platforms, built user-facing tooling, and you move comfortably between technical implementation details and UX tradeoffs.

You care about developer workflows that are intuitive and actually get used, and you know how to partner across product, design, and engineering to ship. If you want to shape AI-driven developer tools, build low-code and no-code surfaces, and own a core user-facing experience at Kong, we'd like to talk.

What's leadership and the team like?

You'll report to Jason Harmon, Director of Product Management, who leads the Konnect Dev Portal teams. The broader Konnect team brings together people from a range of backgrounds, focused on one thing: a SaaS platform that helps Kong's customers operate, scale, and manage AI and APIs in the modern application world.

What you'll do:
  • Own the Konnect Developer Portal self-service experience, including application registration, credential management, team management, and environments.

  • Lead product discovery and shape the roadmap across areas like:

    • multi-runtime access control spanning API, AI, and event gateways

    • API and AI lifecycle management

    • API and AI productization and monetization

    • onboarding that cuts friction and time to value for both product-led growth (PLG) and enterprise customers

  • Partner closely with design, engineering, go-to-market, and customers to define and ship features that move the needle.

  • Run user research, synthesize feedback, and turn it into clear requirements and prioritization calls.

  • Define and track the KPIs that tell you whether the product is healthy, adopted, and generating revenue.

  • Communicate clearly across functions and product lines, aligning stakeholders and making tradeoffs explicit.

What you'll bring:
  • 6 to 8 years in product management, in B2B SaaS, developer tooling, or platform products.

  • Deep empathy for developers, with hands-on experience building or supporting developer-facing tools or APIs.

  • A clear grasp of what makes agentic workflows productive.

  • A track record shipping complex product surfaces that span frontend UX, backend integrations, and system design.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with a habit of iterative, high-trust work alongside design and engineering.

  • The ability to define and track success metrics tied to both product outcomes and business goals, like ARR impact.

  • Familiarity with git workflows, CLI tooling, Markdown docs, and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred qualifications
  • 5+ years building developer-focused user experiences.

  • Experience with APIs, AI, and developers as your primary product audience, or even better additional experience as a practitioner.

  • Experience with API management/gateway platforms as product or practitioner

  • Experience using AI to automate product management and development workflows.
