Leidos seeks a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to be part of a team of software developers, testers, and other technical personnel to support a significant program within the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The tester is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems. Duties may include defining and specifying the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of client and/or company products.
*This position is contingent upon Leidos being awarded a contract under which the work will be performed.
Primary Responsibilities
Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of the client’s software products
Understand user needs and test software solutions through clear communication with the product owner and the Scrum team
Based on requirements, develop test plans; after the test, prepare a test report
Test software within a cloud environment customized to IRS requirements
Execute stringent unit testing of delivered code to verify that it meets all functional requirements
Oversee peer testing, as needed
Responsible for leading some operations within an area that has a significant impact on results for the job family
Responsible for assisting and training lower-level support employees
Act as an SME to support regression testing activities carried out by teams such as an Application Qualification Test (AQT) and System Acceptance Test (SAT) testing teams, ensuring that the software meets the functional requirements
Test complete applications and re-test results of bug fixes and security scans, and Section 508 testing (as needed)
Conduct final integration testing, as needed
Use Jenkins to deploy code and execute automated regression tests
Be a team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
Resolve routine problems and issues without clearly prescribed solutions
Check and make minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems
Communicate with contacts, typically within and outside the family, on matters to obtain or provide information on matters of significant importance to the job family
Have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered
Possesses extensive knowledge in specialized functions
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of prior relevant experience
Must hold an active IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI)
Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools: Jenkins, Selenium, LoadRunner, Splunk, JSON/XML Schema, and the CLM Suite
Experience resolving routine problems and issues, without clearly prescribed solutions
Experience in checking and making minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems

Desired Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in software development
Experience testing software products on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment
Experience testing software on an Agile development team
