The Senior Software Engineer will develop core components of Collectly's product using Python and React, collaborating with the team to deliver impactful features and improve the engineering culture.
About Collectly
Collectly is a fast-growing healthcare tech startup leading the charge in transforming the U.S. healthcare market through AI-driven innovation. In the U.S., millions of patients interact with healthcare providers daily, navigating a system that often struggles with inefficiencies, administrative burdens, and suboptimal financial experience.
At the forefront of the AI boom, Collectly is redefining revenue cycle management (RCM) by applying cutting-edge artificial intelligence to automate workflows, streamline billing processes, and create seamless financial experiences.
Our solutions are designed to tackle some of the biggest challenges in healthcare: accelerating cash flow, reducing administrative overhead, and elevating the patient experience during critical non-clinical touchpoints.
By simplifying billing for providers and elevating the patient financial experience, Collectly empowers healthcare organizations to thrive in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. We empower healthcare providers to focus on what matters most—delivering care.
We’re a hybrid team based partly in Santa Monica, with teammates distributed across the U.S. and Europe.
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll join a talented team building the core Collectly product, powered by a Python backend and React frontend. You’ll collaborate closely with the founder, engineering leadership, PMs, designers, and the engineering team to deliver high-quality, impactful features that help healthcare providers and patients alike.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate closely with the founder, PMs, designers, and engineers to design and build a world-class product.
- Build and ship critical features with focused intent, attention to detail, and an eye toward maintainability and scalability.
- Fully own your features end-to-end — from requirements and coding to testing, observability, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
- Shape our engineering culture as we grow.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of experience building complex web applications
- You have experience building backend systems — ideally with Python and frameworks like FastAPI or Flask, but if your background is in a statically-typed language (e.g., Go, Java, C#), that’s great too. We value strong engineering fundamentals and are happy to help you ramp up on Python
- You care deeply about building exceptional products and delivering real impact to users
- You thrive in fast-paced, startup environments where priorities can shift quickly and adapt gracefully to ambiguity
- You take ownership of your work and communicate clearly with teammates across disciplines
How We Work:
- Start with a 1–2 week onboarding onsite in Los Angeles/Santa Monica with our CTO — travel and accommodations fully covered
- After onboarding, you’ll work remotely with the freedom and flexibility that comes with it
Join a collaborative and supportive team that values high-quality code, continuous improvement, and having fun while doing meaningful work.
