About the Role

We are looking for a Staff/Senior Software Engineer to join our Installers Pod! You'll work on our new Embedded appliance that's easy to install, update, and manage - a product that many software vendors use for distributing products to their customers. Engineering at Replicated

Our engineers contribute to every stage of building the Replicated delivery and management platform - from early brainstorming to shipping and supporting the final product. Working with open-source technologies like Kubernetes, K0s, and Helm, you'll help us continue to build the next generation of multi-premise features for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Enterprise customers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the thought-leadership to the pod that elevates the way we work

  • Work with product managers, designers, engineers, and customers to iterate features from the idea stage to release and beyond.

What You Bring:

  • Senior/Staff level professional development experience with Go and associated tooling.

  • Senior/Staff level professional experience with Kubernetes and cloud native projects.

  • Ability to positively impact the engineering practices and software craftsmanship of your team

  • You have developed software for external users, ideally for a highly technical audience

  • Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills with the proven ability to:

    • Influence, lead, and mentor within the team and across the engineering organization..

    • Communicate with leadership and other stakeholders across the company.

    • Engage with customers to better understand the problems they are trying to solve.

  • Experience developing and shipping software in a cloud-native, customer-facing infrastructure.

  • Experience taking on complex challenges and breaking them down into iterative deliverables.

  • Experience delivering software within the constraints of a modern CI/CD pipeline

  • A high degree of curiosity for innovative software, balanced with an appreciation for sustainable solutions.

  • Shadow engineers in on-call and support rotation

  • Examine our systems to understand the "why" behind our architecture

  • Continue building relationships and understanding how our services interact

First 90 Days

  • Take a leadership role for one of the team's priorities

  • Use your expertise to improve reliability and quality

  • Join the on-call and support rotation as a full member

  • Continue learning with support from our yearly curiosity budget

In the US, the salary range for this role is as follows:
Sr. Software Engineer I: $148,500 - $181,500
Sr. Software Engineer II: $162,000 - $198,000
Staff Software Engineer: $185,000 - $230,000

Our compensation bands are dependent on several factors, including level, qualifications, and experience. We have a 360° interview process designed to educate you on the role and what it is like to be a member of the team. It also helps us complete our leveling exercise. Since leveling is conducted during the interview process the above range may vary and compensation can extend beyond the posted range. For team members outside of the US, our salary ranges are at localized rates for the countries we support.

This is dependent on several factors, including level, qualifications, and experience. We also offer stock options, a strong health insurance package, as well as a unique home office allowance & a professional development budget.
