Description

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow’s problems. This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.  

Selected applicant will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

Requirements

What We Need To See

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline 
  • 5+ years of C/C++ software development experience  
  • Prior experience writing software (C, C++, and/or Ada)  
  • Version Control – Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows. 
  • Linux & Bash Scripting – Comfortable working in a Linux-based development environment. 
  • Agile & Collaboration – Experience working in an Agile team using tools like Jira. 
  • Networking - Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking 
  • Node.js & TypeScript – Proficiency in building scalable back-end services. 
  • Microservices Architecture – Knowledge of designing and maintaining distributed services. 
  • Containerization & Deployment – Proficiency in Docker and containerized environments. 
  • Testing & Debugging – Writing unit and integration tests for services. 
  • Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers 
  • Up to 25% Travel required 
  • Clearance eligibility required 

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd

  • Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.) 
  • Database Knowledge – Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases. 
  • Protobuf/gRPC – Experience developing and consuming messages with Google Protobuf 
  • Prisma ORM – Familiarity with Prisma for database interactions. 
  • React - Ability to build and deploy React front end services. 
  • Kubernetes – Understanding of orchestrating microservices in Kubernetes. 
  • Open Mission Systems (OMS) - Experience building OMS services. 
  • CI/CD Pipelines – Experience with automated deployments and DevOps tooling. 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 

Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000
