Develop and maintain the Linux-based OS platform for Graykey, enhance CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to public safety initiatives.
Job Description:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Graykey Platform team, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the foundational Linux-based OS platform and core services that power Magnet’s Graykey product. You'll help shape the growth and scalability of both the platform and broader engineering efforts by enhancing the CI/CD pipeline for more efficient and reliable build and deployment processes.
In this role, you will champion Python best practices and influence the evolution of Python development and deployment across the organization. Most importantly, you'll contribute to a mission-driven product that plays a critical role in public safety and literally saves lives.
NOTE: Candidate must reside in The United States OR Canada.
Role Expectations:
- Analyze requirements, break down tasks and estimate effort;
- Design robust, performant and secure solutions;
- Develop efficient, modular and maintainable software solutions;
- Participate in code reviews;
- Troubleshoot, debug and fix software defects;
- Take initiative, build strong teams and communicate effectively;
- Guide best practices for building, delivering and maintaining multiple source code projects.
Skills Required:
- 7+ years of experience on Linux systems development;
- 5+ years of experience with Python;
- Proficiency with Embedded Linux systems and bootloader;
- Expert level experience in Python, Python debugging, profiling, etc;
- Strong understanding of Python internals, libraries (Flask, Django, etc.);
- Proficiency in Linux shell scripting (create, debug, maintain, etc.);
- Proficiency using GIT/GitHub/GitLab;
- Proficiency in creating Debian Linux packages;
- Proficiency with cryptography concepts and programming;
- Proficiency with computer networking protocols and programming;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent field.
Nice To Haves:
- Proficiency maintaining, patching and building the Linux kernel and drivers;
- Experience with iMX6 and/or iMX8 ARM based system on modules;
- Experience with Docker containers;
- Experience with virtual images (Virtual Box, KVM, QEMU, etc.);
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript;
- Proficiency with C/C++;
- Low-level experience developing endpoint protection products;
- Forensic background.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (ie. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).
- MIN: $126,000 - MID: $180,000 - MAX: $216,000 USD
- MIN: $111,300 - MID: $159,000 - MAX: $190,800 CAD
