About Paxos

Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it.

We’re on a mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world’s leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo, Mastercard and Interactive Brokers.

About the team

The Issuance Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers Paxos’ issuance of tokenized assets. Our engineers are passionate about designing and implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance systems that ensure the seamless creation, management, and transfer of digital assets. We work closely with product, operations, and compliance teams to drive innovation in financial technology while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and security.

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Issuance at Paxos, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing software solutions that support the issuance of digital assets, including stablecoins and other tokenized financial instruments. You will leverage your expertise in distributed systems and modern software development practices to ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of our platform.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical issuance systems that support tokenized assets across multiple blockchains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, compliance, and infrastructure to define system architecture and technical requirements.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our issuance services through best practices in software design, testing, and deployment.
  • Optimize existing issuance infrastructure to enhance performance, reduce latency, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in blockchain, distributed systems, and financial technology to drive innovation within the team.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making processes.

About you

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Golang, Kotlin, Rust, Java, C++, Python.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure and tools, such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and AWS services.
  • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with blockchain technologies, smart contracts, or cryptographic principles is a plus.
  • A passion for learning and applying new technologies to solve real-world problems.
