SALARY: $130,000 - $160,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
We are seeking a seasoned engineer eager to have a big impact by solving cumbersome internal processes rapidly using their software development skills and low-code solutions such as ReTool.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Canoe, you will be responsible for quickly building and deploying internal tools that enhance efficiency across the team. You will move fast to develop and deliver solutions with minimal supervision, ensuring immediate impact. With the freedom to choose the best solutions for the job, you'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in our commercial and operations teams to rapidly turn needs into functional applications. What You'll Do:

  • Specialize in rapid development of internal tools by integrating with many systems, databases, and APIs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency using low-code platforms, particularly ReTool.
  • Design, develop, and maintain intuitive internal tools by leveraging technologies such as Python, SQL, Kafka, and Typescript.
  • Focus on delivering a user-friendly, accurate, and reliable experience for internal customers.
  • Champion a data-driven approach, by analyzing performance metrics and driving continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, actively contributing ideas for process improvement and tool enhancement.



What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on Python, SQL, and Typescript. Ability to leverage Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of data management, storage and optimization.
    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset, with a passion for making a meaningful impact and driving organizational success.


Preferred

  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
  • Exposure to Kafka and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with AWS and DevOps practices is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with UX concepts and techniques (e.g., usability testing).
