About the Team:
SailPoint is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to help build a new cloud-based SaaS identity security product, known as the Identity Graph. We are looking for experienced backend engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable micro-services and infrastructure for SaaS products.
As one of the core members on the team, you will be integral in building this product and will be part of an agile team that is in startup mode. This is a unique opportunity to grow a project that is in it’s early stages but with the backing of an organization that has the muscle to take it to market quickly, with a broad and engaged customer base.
Requirements
Deep implementation experience in GoLang for at least 2+ years, and 5+ years of general experience with GoLang required.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
Experience with large scale data sets, in distributed environments
(Kubernetes, Vault, gRPC, Kafka, Cassandra)5+ years of overall professional software development experience
3+ years of experience leading systems design
2+ years of professional experience in a multiple-stakeholder environment
A proven ability to change your own opinions and preferred methods based on new evidence
Truly excellent written & verbal communication skills, including the art of being concise
“Conversant” on identity security is a plus
Within the first 30 days, you will:
Get up to speed on SailPoint’s engineering environment, tools, and cloud-native micro-services architecture.
Set up your development environment and begin contributing code to backend services.
Collaborate with your team to understand product goals, architecture, and development best practices.
By 90 days, you will:
Own and deliver features in GoLang-based micro-services that are reliable, scalable, and secure.
Participate in design discussions and contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and observability.
Strengthen data processing and integration across distributed systems using technologies like Vault, gRPC, and Cassandra.
By 6 months, you will:
Lead design and implementation of new backend services and integrations.
Influence architecture and coding standards across the team.
Deliver production-ready features that have measurable customer impact.
Help shape team culture through collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$109,200 - $156,000 - $202,800Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
