Position Description:
The Sr Software Engineer will be working with other engineers, architects, and product managers to develop software on our philanthropic solutions software platform. This person must be self-motivated and results-oriented with strong programming skills across modern enterprise software architectures. The Sr Software Engineer is expected to work well in an agile development environment, to mentor and develop those around them, and build superior products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Execution
- Write production-quality, highly performant Typescript/React code as a front-end to a microservices architecture.
- Write production-quality, highly performant, API services using C#/.NET Core for service-based enterprise SaaS solutions in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Modification of database objects using SQL and PL/SQL (stored procedures, views, tables etc.)
- Work with cloud storage and warehousing tools such as Snowflake.
- Work with reporting software such as Metabase.
- Adhere to defined security standards in both functional and non-functional duties of job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Engineering Excellence
- Write Automated Unit and Integration Tests to increase code quality and lower defect rate.
- Drive improvements in engineering practices, standards, and methodologies
- Refactor existing code to improve maintainability and quality.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and reliability standards
Collaboration & Influence
- Collaborate and pair with other software engineers and product professionals to design, implement and test new features and product refinements.
- Work closely with Product Management and other areas of the business to ensure market needs are met.
- Establish credibility and influence across teams by clearly communicating complex technical concepts.
- Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and contribute to broader organizational initiatives.
- Translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
Mentorship & Capability Building
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship while providing technical and design feedback leveraging code and peer reviews across the full application stack.
- Mentor engineers by sharing expertise, guiding design decisions, and helping avoid technical pitfalls.
- Author and present training materials and documentation to other team members and users of software
- Actively elevate team capabilities through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
AI Usage & Engineering Efficiency
- Utilize Agentic AI in day-to-day development, author and maintain MCP servers to assist in the software development process.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, testing support, documentation automation) to increase productivity and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI into products, engineering workflows, and operational processes.
- Use AI responsibly to enhance—not replace—engineering judgment, ensuring quality, security, and ethical standards.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging tools and technologies to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in C# .NET or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in typescript and a modern JavaScript framework like React.
- 3+ years of experience in the programming and support of complex enterprise cloud applications
- Experience interfacing with scalable GraphQL, and REST APIs using Microservices.
- Experience with frameworks such as React, Aurelia, Angular, or Vue
- Lean/Agile methodologies
- Strength in algorithms and design patterns
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development is a plus.
- Financial Technology experience is a plus.
- Experience working with multi-tenanted systems.
