About the Role

The Senior SEO Manager is a key contributor on Scorpion’s Enterprise Optimization Team, responsible for driving measurable organic performance for a portfolio of franchise and multi-location clients. This role operates at the intersection of technical SEO, content strategy, and client communication—translating complex search data into clear, actionable recommendations that align with client business goals.

As AI-driven search continues to reshape how visibility is measured and won, the Senior SEO Manager plays a critical role in staying ahead of industry shifts. This includes advising on AI search presence and brand authority alongside traditional ranking metrics. You will partner closely with Account Managers, the Optimization Team, and cross-functional partners in Content, Social, and Product to deliver cohesive SEO strategies that move the needle for clients.

The ideal candidate brings a deep technical SEO foundation, strong client-facing communication skills, and the strategic instincts to balance short-term wins with long-term organic growth. You are comfortable owning complex accounts, mentoring teammates, and contributing to team-wide initiatives and processes.

What Your Success Will Look Like
  • Client Strategy & Account Management
    • Develop and manage SEO strategies for a portfolio of franchise and multi-location clients, ensuring alignment with client business goals and measurable performance outcomes.
    • Serve as a senior point of contact for high-value accounts, providing strategic oversight and proactively identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
    • Collaborate with Account Managers to communicate performance insights clearly and drive client satisfaction.
  • Technical SEO Experience
    • Lead comprehensive SEO audits covering site authority, technical health, organic performance, and content structure for both prospective and active clients.
    • Diagnose complex technical SEO issues, identify root causes impacting performance, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
    • Maintain proficiency across core SEO platforms and apply learnings to continuously improve processes and client outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership
    • Act as a senior resource within the Enterprise Optimization Team, providing mentorship and escalation support to Ranking Strategists.
    • Contribute to team-wide process improvements, scalable frameworks, and cross-functional initiatives with Content, Social, and Product partners.
  • Optimization in the New AI Landscape
    • Monitor and advise on clients’ visibility in AI-driven search environments, leveraging available tools to track brand presence and off-platform signals.
    • Stay current on algorithm updates and AI search developments, bringing insights back to the team and client base.
    • Help educate Account Manager teams and clients on evolving search metrics and the growing role of AI in organic visibility.
Who You Are And What You Bring
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  •  Experience
    • 3+ years of experience in SEO, with a demonstrated track record in client-facing or agency roles managing complex or high-value accounts.
    • Proven ability to build SEO plans directly tied to client business objectives and measurable outcomes.
    • Familiarity with AI search tools and emerging approaches to visibility measurement.
    • Experience working with franchise, multi-location, or local service businesses preferred.
    • Experience with upselling and revenue growth strategies is a plus.
  • Skills
    • Ability to analyze complex SEO data from multiple sources, surface actionable insights, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong command of on-site and technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, metadata, schema, and content best practices.
    • Proficiency in GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog. Experience with additional platforms is a plus.
    • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments—demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving.
    • Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally across teams (Account Management, Content, Product, etc.).

Compensation  

We acknowledge that states have passed legislation promoting pay transparency. As a national employer, Scorpion has made the decision to post our expected pay rate or pay range (as applicable) in all our job postings, regardless of geographic location.

  • The base salary range is $75,000 (entry-level) - $90,000 (highly experienced), exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at Scorpion, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the total salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. 
  • The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses or commissions.
