The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior SAP Technical Architect to join Boeing SAP Center of Excellence (COE) in either Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; Ridley Park, PA; Miami, FL; Kent, WA; Seattle, WA; Tukwila, WA; Berkley, MO; or Hazelwood, MO.
This role is a deep Senior SAP Systems Architect position with strong Basis, Security Admin skills and hosting SAP on hyperscalers. The role will be responsible to maintain/manage, build/upgrade/refresh large SAP Landscape to provide a robust, scalable, secure SAP ERP platform to support ERP Bedrock Digital Transformation roadmap delivery on MS Azure. A successful candidate will need to show excellent technical architecture and leadership skills as the focus is on partnering with other technical leads, program managers, architects, partners to provide modernized ERP platform services on time, with quality, efficiently.
The position demands an individual with passion, great leadership, collaboration and communication skills. This candidate will have the ability to drive technology transformation in the domain. This senior technologist position will focus on supporting the Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) goals of configuring, managing, and modernizing the SAP S4 application landscape on Azure from SAP BASIS and release deployment perspective.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Architect and manage SAP Application Landscape hosted on Microsoft Azure, including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and other SAP systems tenancy, regions, availability zones, VNet design, connectivity, and disaster recovery
  • Lead SAP system installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations in Azure cloud environments
  • Design system sizing, SAP HANA architecture (single-node, scale-up, scale-out, HA), and requirements for compute, memory, storage IOPS, and networking by evaluating, selecting and designing Azure services for SAP
  • Lead migrations (brownfield, greenfield) and system copies; define cutover approach and rollback plans
  • Design and implement high-availability and DR strategies (synchronous/asynchronous HANA replication, Pacemaker/STONITH patterns, geo-redundant architectures, ASCS/ERS cluster design)
  • Define automation and IaC standards using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines for provisioning and configuration
  • Establish patching, system lifecycle, and maintenance windows; manage SAP Kernel and HANA patch upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Implement and manage SAP HANA database administration and performance tuning on Azure
  • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure SAP systems meet Boeing Info-security regulatory requirements
  • Develop and enforce SAP Basis best practices, automation, and governance aligned with Boeing policies
  • Establish patching, system lifecycle, and maintenance windows; manage SAP Kernel and HANA patch upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Design SAP system landscapes with a focus on security, compliance (e.g., ITAR, NIST), and performance specific to Aerospace and Defense industry standards
  • Ensure security and compliance: identity/role design (Azure AD, Privileged Identity Management), network segmentation, encryption (in-transit and at-rest), key management (Azure Key Vault), logging, and audit trails
  • Establish patching, system lifecycle, and maintenance windows; manage SAP Kernel and HANA patch upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Oversee SAP system monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning on Azure
  • Utilize Azure-native tools and services (e.g., Azure Monitor, Azure Automation, Azure Security Center) to optimize SAP operations
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Basis and cloud operations teams in outages, RCA and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Stay current with SAP Basis, Azure cloud technologies, and Aerospace & Defense industry trends
  • Establish patching, system lifecycle, and maintenance windows; manage SAP Kernel and HANA patch upgrades with minimal downtime

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 15+ years of experience in large scale SAP enabled business transformation
  • 10+ years of experience in a Systems Enterprise Architecture role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • SAP s/4 HANA certified, SAP BTP, Signavio Process Modeling, EA Modeling tools (LeanIx etc)
  • Experience with SAP expertise across multiple Valuestreams
  • Experience with Strategic and Enterprise thinking
  • Experience with focus and delivery of excellence
  • Experience with business processes
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Senior Summary Page Range: $172,550 - $249,550
