Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Overview
We're looking to hire a sharp, analytically-minded Sales Data Scientist to join our Sales & Success Strategy team and accelerate Atlassian's transformation across AI and Rovo adoption and growth of our Collections (Teamwork, Service, Strategy, and Software). This is a high-impact role designed for someone who can blend analytical depth, business fluency, and data engineering capabilities.
In this role, you'll work directly with cross-functional partners in Sales Strategy, Sales, Product, and Customer Success to uncover insights, build models, and enable data-driven decision making across our direct and partner sales motions. This includes leveraging advanced modeling techniques and tapping into platforms like Databricks, Gainsight, and Salesforce to guide action and measure impact.
Responsibilities
Advanced GTM Analytics & Modeling
  • Build and operationalize propensity models, lookalike targeting, cohort analysis, and other advanced analytics to drive strategic segmentation and GTM prioritization.
  • Analyze product adoption (e.g., Rovo agents, JSM usage) to surface patterns and leading indicators of success.
  • Collaborate with Sales Strategy and Marketing teams to deploy data-backed targeting and messaging strategies.

Insight Generation & Storytelling
  • Run analysis using SQL, Python, Databricks, and visualize insights with Tableau or Looker.
  • Identify trends in pipeline health, renewal performance, AI feature usage, and expansion motion effectiveness.
  • Communicate findings in crisp, business-relevant terms to Sales and Product stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership
  • Partner with Product GTM, Sales, Customer Success, and Enablement teams to shape initiatives, define KPIs, and monitor execution.
  • Use Salesforce and Gainsight data to analyze customer health, usage signals, and expansion likelihood to inform CSM and AE plays.

Qualifications
  • 4-7 years in data science or GTM analytics roles in SaaS or high-growth tech.
  • Proficiency in Databricks, SQL, Python, and strong visualization skills in Tableau/Looker.
  • Experience building and interpreting models (e.g., propensity, clustering, churn risk, lookalikes).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Clari, Gong, and other Sales Tech tools.
  • Excellent communication and synthesis skills-able to translate data into clear recommendations.
  • Experience working on AI product adoption, Sales transformation, or customer expansion strategies preferred.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian's GTM motion or similar PLG-driven SaaS business preferred.
  • Background in sales performance and analytics is a plus preferred.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $149,400 - $195,050

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
