GridGain is currently looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant who will perform a wide variety of revenue and financial-related tasks.


Candidate should be self-motivated and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. This role requires strong analytical abilities and a strong knowledge of ASC 606.  The Senior Revenue Accountant will report to the Controller and must be a team player with a positive attitude and a desire to help the team be successful.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review the sales contracts, determine appropriate revenue recognition treatments under ASC 606, and set up revenue schedules in the Sage Intacct revenue module.
  • Manage professional services revenue in the Sage Intacct revenue module. This process includes collaborating with the head of the Professional Services department, utilizing the time tracking system (Harvest), monitoring project progress and milestones, and determining appropriate revenue recognition methods and timelines.
  • Manage accounts receivable, monitor the unbilled contracts, and generate invoices on a timely basis.
  • Support treasury accounting and ensure timely AR collection with a proactive approach.
  • Take ownership of the Company’s sales tax compliance, using Avalara by ensuring timely filings and remittance. Revisit the Company’s economic nexus and exposure in various states on a quarterly basis.
  • Ownership of month-end close activities and provide extensive reporting. This includes but is not limited to Rev Rec, flux, variance analysis, booking to revenue waterfall, COGS, PS utilization, collection, and billed & unbilled deferred revenue reports.
  • Provide reliable data on revenue, deferred revenue, and collections for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
  • Play a key role during the annual external audits and annual bank due diligence by providing necessary documentation and support for revenue and AR related items.
  • Update the Company’s SSP analysis annually and prepare memos for complex transactions.
  • Review booking details in Salesforce and provide input on the Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and provide support to the deal desk team with pricing and revenue implications as needed.
  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned and assist in various ad-hoc projects as needed.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Over 10 years of accounting experience, with more than 5 years focused on revenue accounting in a Tech and Software as a Service (SaaS) environment
  • CPA license is HIGHLY desired
  •  Advanced MS Office skills.  Superior knowledge of Excel is a MUST!
  • Accounting Software (Sage Intacct), Avalara and Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP
  • Solid experience with financial statement preparation, monthly close process and external audits
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and a strong level of accuracy
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare revenue memos
  • Capable of managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and multi-tasking across various assignments
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leadership, demonstrating a high level of responsiveness
  • Ability to keep pace with high performers within the Finance team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
