About the Position
As a Senior QA engineer you will be working within one of our cross-functional teams and will be responsible for ensuring the products we ship are of a high quality. You will be using a mix of manual and automation techniques to ensure our users have a great experience and encounter as few bugs as possible.
Primary Responsibilities
Day-to-day you will be:
- Building and maintaining a test harness for distributed services
- Working with the team to build tools for integration testing, performance testing and end-to-end testing
- Performing manual testing where appropriate
- Driving quality through writing tests, maintaining effective documentation and collaborating with stakeholders
- Working directly with our Product and Design teams to ensure we bake quality in at the top of the value stream
- Working with the DevOps team to help with pipeline tools where needed
Required Qualifications
- Passionate about testing and quality in software
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders
- Fluent in QA principles, processes and best practices
- Experience testing distributed and/or complex systems
- Proficient with scripting languages like TypeScript (which we use extensively), JavaScript or Python
- Experience constructing end-to-end (e2e) frameworks from scratch and maintaining them
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, CucumberStudio, or equivalent
- Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber
- Knowledge of performance testing methodologies and tools, such as PyTest, Jest, etc.
- Hands-on experience with API testing, either through scripting or tools such as Postman
- Experience with Agile software development practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
