Senior Protection and Controls Engineer
Location: Eden Prairie, MN or Remote
Schedule: Full-Time

Pay Range: $120,000 – $170,000 / Salary (based on experience)

EVS is looking for a Senior Protection & Controls Engineer to drive innovation in grid reliability and clean energy. This is a prime opportunity to lead technical design work, collaborate with industry-leading engineers, and mentor the next generation—all while contributing to a more sustainable future.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead protection and control (P&C) design for utility substation projects

  • Perform relay settings, short circuit, and arc flash studies

  • Develop one-line diagrams, P&C schematics, and wiring diagrams

  • Act as a subject matter expert on relay philosophy, RTU configuration, and NERC compliance

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure technical excellence

  • Mentor junior engineers and help shape project standards

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5–6+ years of experience in substation or transmission design

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license—or ability to obtain it

  • Proficiency with SEL AcSELerator, SKM, ETAP, AutoCAD

  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and passion for clean energy
