Harbor IT is a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in delivering cutting edge Cybersecurity, IT, and Cloud Services to a diverse portfolio of clients. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Harbor IT is backed by investment firm Worklyn Partners since 2022 and has built a national platform through acquisition and rapid organic growth. Our mission is to manage our clients’ technology and mitigate their cyber risks, so that they don’t have to.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Project Manager owns end-to-end delivery of Harbor IT's professional services engagements, driving projects from initiation through closure with discipline, client transparency, and margin accountability. This role is the primary delivery owner and client relationship manager across complex, multi-workstream engagements spanning infrastructure, cloud, and modern work implementations.

The Senior PM operates as a senior practitioner within Harbor IT's PMO function, setting the delivery standard while contributing to process improvement, tooling maturity, and cross-functional coordination with solutions architects, domain engineers, and account management. The ideal candidate brings structured project management discipline, MSP delivery context, and the commercial awareness to protect scope, manage change, and flag risk before it becomes revenue exposure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own project delivery across a portfolio of concurrent professional services engagements including infrastructure deployments, cloud migrations, and modern work implementations.

Drive project initiation, scoping validation, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and formal closure for every assigned engagement.

Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout delivery - setting cadence, communicating status, managing expectations, and escalating appropriately when delivery is at risk.

Monitor project budget and hours consumption against the approved SOW, flag scope variance early, and manage the change order process to protect gross margin.

Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams including Harbor IT engineers, solutions architects, and third-party contractors engaged to fulfill project delivery requirements.

Maintain accurate and current project data in ConnectWise Manage including time entries, project phases, task status, milestone tracking, and billing triggers.

Produce clean project documentation including project plans, meeting notes, status reports, risk logs, and post-project closure summaries.

Collaborate with peer PMs and the PMO function to standardize delivery processes, templates, and tooling to improve consistency and scalability across the practice.

Partner with solutions architects and account managers at project kickoff to validate scope, identify delivery risk, and ensure a clean handoff from pre-sales to delivery.

Escalate resource gaps, technical blockers, and client satisfaction concerns to practice leadership in a timely and factual manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Proven track record managing complex IT project delivery in an MSP, systems integrator, or technology consulting environment.

Strong command of project management fundamentals - scope management, schedule development, resource planning, risk identification, change control, and budget tracking.

Proficiency with professional services automation tooling, preferably ConnectWise Manage, for project tracking, time management, and billing milestone coordination.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse technical domains without sacrificing delivery quality or client communication.

Commercial awareness and gross margin discipline - understands the relationship between scope, hours, and project profitability, and manages change orders proactively.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical delivery status into clear, business-appropriate language for client stakeholders.

Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery teams including on-site engineers, remote engineers, subcontractors, and vendor resources.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment where process is still maturing and the PM is expected to contribute to that maturation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience considered.

5+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 3 years delivering professional services in an MSP or technology consulting environment.

PMP certification required or actively in progress. CAPM or equivalent considered for candidates with strong MSP delivery history.

Experience with ConnectWise Manage or equivalent PSA platform strongly preferred.

Familiarity with infrastructure, cloud, and Microsoft 365 deployment projects preferred - deep technical knowledge not required, but delivery context is essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Senior role within Harbor IT's Professional Services department, operating in an EOS-managed, growth-stage MSP environment with shared accountability across delivery, architecture, and account management functions.

Remote-first with occasional travel for client project kickoffs, site visits, and Harbor IT team meetings - infrequent but expected.

High client exposure across healthcare, agribusiness, defense-adjacent, and enterprise verticals with complex, multiphase engagement portfolios.

BENEFITS:

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

    Health, dental, and vision insurance

    401(k) with company match

    Unlimited PTO

    Remote-first work environment
