The Scaled Operations team increases supply effectiveness, utilization, and impact through people-powered operations. We design, implement, and scale key operational programs that support Airbnb’s global community of Hosts. Within this team, the Programs and Business Operations role drives strategic planning, program execution, and operational excellence to ensure we deliver meaningful business outcomes through scalable systems and cohesive cross-functional collaboration.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Senior Programs and Business Operations Lead, you will serve as a strategic leader across Airbnb’s Scaled Operations organization—driving high-impact programs, aligning cross-functional partners, and shaping the roadmap for supply-facing initiatives. You’ll work across a wide range of domains, from pricing strategy to performance tracking and international expansion, ensuring our operational plans support Airbnb’s long-term growth.

You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders across Product, Policy, Support, Marketing, and Finance to solve complex business challenges, guide programmatic investments, and accelerate the success of our Hosts. Your ability to lead through ambiguity, influence diverse teams, and bring operational clarity will be essential to delivering scale and impact in this evolving space.

A Typical Day
  • Define and drive key strategic programs across Scaled Operations, balancing global consistency with regional nuance and execution.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams to align stakeholders, manage program roadmaps, and ensure measurable delivery of business outcomes.
  • Translate complex data and business insights into scalable operational strategies and frameworks.
  • Partner with Product, Business, and Analytics teams to shape supply planning, pricing strategy, and performance targets.
  • Lead quarterly and ongoing business reviews, enabling leadership visibility into goals, metrics, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build and evolve core business processes, tools, and operating rhythms that improve operational efficiency and collaboration.
  • Architect and manage international program rollouts, ensuring alignment with local market needs and Airbnb’s global strategy.
  • Support competitive and market evaluations, informing decisions on service expansion and operational innovation.
  • Mentor others in operational program design and decision-making, elevating the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Your Expertise
  • 12+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, or program leadership within high-growth or matrixed environments.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with significant business impact.
  • Experience in consumer services, marketplaces, or platform businesses strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities—capable of turning insights into clear action plans.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience driving alignment across diverse teams and managing through ambiguity.
  • Deep understanding of operational excellence principles, including planning, execution, and process improvement.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort navigating change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong connection to Airbnb’s mission of creating a world where anyone can belong anywhere.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
