Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the strategy, vision, and delivery of the Product Research Experience for Individual Investors. This role is central to how T. Rowe Price supports self-directed investors, helping them confidently research, compare, and select investments across digital channels. In this high-impact position, you will define how investors discover, evaluate, and act on new investment ideas across our web and mobile platforms.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience designing, building, and coming to market with online brokerage experiences, with a proven track record building intuitive, data-driven digital experiences for self-directed investing. You should be a product strategist who understands investor psychology, competitive digital patterns, market data tools, and research workflows—and who can translate these into experiences that inspire confidence, increase engagement, and drive adoption of T. Rowe Price’s investment solutions. 

The Senior Product Owner will lead the strategy, design, and delivery of the product research experience, shaping how investors discover, evaluate, and act on investment opportunities. In this role, you will: 

  • Own the end-to-end product research experience for Mutual Funds, ETFs, and other Brokerage products 
  • Define the digital experience strategy for self-directed investors, including research, screening, comparison, watchlists, and idea generation 
  • Lead large-scale modernization initiatives to elevate research tools, data usage, analytics, and content integration 
  • Partner closely with Technology, Digital Design, Data, Legal/Compliance, and Investment teams to deliver seamless, compliant, high-performing experiences 
  • Bring commercial judgment, client empathy, and strong execution rigor to ensure the experience drives measurable business and client outcomes 

 

Responsibilities 

Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Own and articulate the vision for the Product Research Experience and adjacent self-directed journeys 
  • Develop a multi-year strategy to modernize research tools, content, personalization, and data integration 
  • Conduct competitive and market research, benchmarking digital experiences from broker/dealers and fintechs 
  • Translate investor needs and business objectives into a clear roadmap that balances innovation, regulatory requirements, and technical realities 
     

Client & Business Outcomes: 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, data-driven research workflows that support confident decision-making 
  • Leverage data (behavioral, qualitative, and quantitative) to identify friction points and opportunities 
  • Monitor product performance using metrics such as research engagement, digital containment, page depth, comparison usage, click-throughs, and investment conversions 
  • Drive strategies that increase self-directed investor engagement and empower clients to take informed action 

 

Experience Design & Delivery:

  • Partner with UX/UI and design teams to define modern, user-friendly interfaces for research and comparison tools 
  • Collaborate with data, analytics, and content teams to integrate investment insights, performance data, ratings, and third-party research 
  • Ensure experiences meet regulatory standards and support compliance and risk requirements 
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, refine backlogs, and ensure teams have clear priorities and requirements 

 

Resource, Talent & Vendor Management: 

  • Manage and mentor product owners and analysts supporting the research experience 
  • Partner with technology leaders to ensure the team is staffed with the right capabilities to deliver efficiently 
  • Manage vendor relationships (e.g., market data providers, comparison tools, research platforms) where applicable 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 8+ years of total relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Direct experience building digital investing or trading experiences at a broker/dealer or online brokerage 
  • Strong understanding of self-directed investor behaviors, digital research workflows, and competitive platforms 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior leaders 

FINRA Requirements  
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role. 
  
Work Flexibility  
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home. 

Base Salary Ranges

$122,000.00 - $209,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$135,000.00 - $230,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$153,000.00 - $261,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
