Every great show has a stage manager: the person backstage calling every cue so the audience experiences only the performance. Product Operations plays that role for Mercury's product organization—building the operating systems, programs, and rhythms that let product teams spend less time navigating process and more time building radically different banking*.

We're looking for a Senior Product Operations Specialist to help scale the way Mercury builds products. You'll own some of our highest-impact operating programs—from launches and onboarding to product culture and organizational planning—while continually improving how they work as the company grows.

You'll partner closely with the Product Operations Manager and Product leadership to translate strategic direction into durable operating systems. Sometimes that means designing a new program from scratch. Other times it means taking something that's already working and making it dramatically better. You'll combine program leadership, operational judgment, and strong cross-functional relationships to ensure our product organization operates with clarity, consistency, and speed.

This is a role for someone who loves building leverage. Someone who sees operations not as administration, but as product design applied to how teams work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own Mercury's Product Launch Program: Own Mercury's launch operating model, ensuring launches move through review with clear ownership, strong cross-functional coordination, and high quality. Continuously improve launch workflows, review processes, and retrospectives as Mercury scales.
  • Lead the New Grad PM Rotational Program: Own Mercury's rotational program for early-career Product Managers. Coordinate rotations, partner with managers and leadership, and evolve the program to deliver an exceptional development experience.
  • Build and Own PM Onboarding: Own the onboarding experience for new Product Managers, helping new hires ramp quickly through thoughtful programming, documentation, and peer connections. Continuously improve the experience based on feedback and organizational needs.
  • Drive Product Culture programming: Design and operate programs that strengthen Mercury's product culture, from internal rituals to external events and thought leadership. Partner across Product, Design, Communications, Recruiting, and People to create experiences that scale with the organization.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Programs: Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across Product, Engineering, Design, Communications, Recruiting, and People. Create clarity, build alignment, and keep programs moving with momentum.
The ideal candidate for the role has:
  • 3–5 years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Business Operations, Chief of Staff, Consulting, or a similar cross-functional role, ideally supporting product or engineering organizations in a high-growth technology company.
  • A track record of owning cross-functional programs from concept through execution, balancing strategic thinking with exceptional operational follow-through.
  • Strong systems thinking. You naturally look beyond individual projects to design repeatable operating mechanisms that help organizations scale.
  • An instinct to improve rather than maintain. You don't simply inherit programs—you evolve them. You notice friction others have accepted and proactively make things simpler, faster, and more effective.
  • Excellent judgment and comfort operating in ambiguity. You can take a high-level objective and translate it into a clear plan, making thoughtful decisions where direction doesn't yet exist.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining a consistently high bar for quality.
  • A product mindset. You approach internal operations the same way great product teams approach customer products—understanding user needs, measuring outcomes, iterating quickly, and continuously improving the experience.
  • A bias toward action paired with sound judgment. You know when speed matters, when quality matters, and how to balance both in a fast-moving environment.
