SignalWire is building the infrastructure layer for real-time, AI-native communications and we need a storyteller who can match the ambition. As our Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will own the narrative, messaging, and positioning that defines two emerging categories: Programmable Unified Communications and Voice AI. If you have a track record of building category-defining positioning from the ground up and are energized by technical advancements, we want to talk.

About SignalWire

SignalWire (signalwire.com) is the team behind FreeSWITCH, the open-source communications platform powering voice infrastructure around the world. Today we are building the next generation of that vision — a modern cloud platform for programmable, AI-native communications. We are a small, high-trust team that operates with autonomy, moves fast, and takes pride in building things that work at scale.

SignalWire is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Approved hiring states: AL, AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI

What you’ll do
  • Own the narrative: Develop and steward SignalWire's category story from the foundational positioning document to the language that shows up in every customer-facing touchpoint.

  • Drive messaging and positioning: Build crisp, differentiated messaging for our developer and enterprise audiences. Run win/loss analysis, competitive research, and customer interviews to ensure positioning is grounded in evidence, not assumptions.

  • Lead category creation: Partner with leadership to define, name, and evangelize the Voice AI category. Create the frameworks, thought leadership content, and analyst/press narratives that establish SignalWire as a defining voice in an emerging market.

  • Enable go-to-market: Equip sales organization with battle cards, pitch decks, objection-handling guides, and competitive intelligence. Own launch coordination for new products and platform capabilities from positioning brief to GA.

  • Be the voice of the customer: Conduct ongoing interviews with developers, enterprise buyers, and partners. Synthesize insight into actionable intelligence that sharpens product, sales, and marketing across the funnel.

  • Shape analyst and press relationships: Represent SignalWire's category POV in conversations with industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, IDC) and technology press. Help build the external narrative that defines how our market is understood.

What we’re looking for:
  • 6–10 years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a technical B2B or developer-facing product role.

  • You are an exceptional writer and strategic storyteller who can distill hard technical concepts into clear, compelling prose without losing the nuance.

  • You are research-driven and base positioning on customer interviews, win/loss data, and competitive intelligence.

  • You are a strong cross-functional operator who is comfortable working directly with founders, product, and sales in a fast-moving, low-process environment.

  • You are fluent in the AI-era communications landscape and can speak credibly to where large language models, voice AI, and real-time infrastructure intersect (and can speak credibly to both technical and business audiences).

  • You have experience with analyst relations and market definition.

Nice to have
  • Background in CPaaS, UCaaS, CCaaS, or real-time communications infrastructure and familiarity with Voice AI, conversational AI, or AI-native application development.

  • Experience marketing to both developers and enterprise buyers within the same product motion.

  • Prior experience at a category-creating company or a company that successfully repositioned into a new market.

Compensation Disclosure

In accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws, the base salary range for this position is $145,000 – $165,000 USD annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by location, relevant experience, skills, and scope of responsibilities. This role is also eligible for an equity grant. SignalWire does not offer a cash bonus program.
