Zillow’s Real Estate Data team powers the data foundation behind Zillow’s consumer and industry-facing products. Our mission is to make high-quality real estate data easily accessible and actionable across Zillow Group. We partner closely with engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and operations teams to build platforms that ingest, normalize, secure, and activate numerous sources of real estate data – including all of the listings and public data our customers see on Zillow.com.About the role
As a Senior Product Manager for Public Data, you’ll lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of a portfolio of data products that power Zillow’s use of public property records — including tax assessments, property tax payments, deeds, mortgages, and foreclosure data.
These datasets play a foundational role in Zillow’s modeling, analytics, and consumer experiences. They enable Zillow to build a comprehensive view of each property and support key downstream use cases — from pricing and risk evaluation to user-facing calculators and home details.
You’ll work cross-functionally with data engineering, operations, legal, and platform partners to ensure public data is timely, trustworthy, and easily integrated across Zillow’s systems. This role is also central to evolving our internal data workflows, where we are actively exploring opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve data quality, reduce latency, and scale ingestion with greater efficiency.
In this role, you will:
Define and execute the product roadmap for public record data ingestion, enrichment, and publishing
Build and launch AI-powered workflows to automate and streamline manual processes
Drive the design and adoption of simplified data access patterns across Real Estate Data products, starting with Public Data
Establish and monitor key data health metrics, including anomaly detection and reporting alerts
Support cross-functional initiatives that span the entire Zillow Group suite of products from shoppers, to renters, to agents, and more
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify high-leverage opportunities and address systemic data quality issues
Launch and iterate on tooling and workflows that improve data completeness, consistency, and traceability
Partner with data consumers across Zillow to support analytics, modeling, and product use cases
Communicate product strategy, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Required qualifications:
5+ years of product management or related experience, ideally in data platforms or enterprise data systems
Strong understanding of data ingestion, normalization, and governance workflows
Adept at collaborating across technical, legal, and operational domains
Comfortable driving strategic direction while rolling up your sleeves to solve implementation details
Skilled communicator who can clearly explain complex systems to a variety of audiences
Familiarity with APIs, databases, and basic SQL — comfortable querying or using tools (including AI-assisted solutions) to troubleshoot and explore data
Familiarity with the modern data stack (e.g., Databricks, dbt, Snowflake, or similar tools)
Experience building internal tooling or platforms for data, operations, or other internal data customers
Here at Zillow, we value the experience and perspective of candidates with non-traditional backgrounds. We encourage you to apply if you have transferable skills or related experiences.
Experience working with public records or compliance-sensitive data is a plus
