Ancestry seeks an exceptionally passionate and highly motivated Sr. Technical Product Manager to join our DNA Operations product team. This team provides software solutions for the backbone one the DNA product, including the Supply Chain, Operations, and Science teams.  The most recent product extension under the Ancestry DNA business, the team has recently released a 0-1 product into market and is in the early stages of growth and scalability.  As a Product Manager within this organization, you may have a variety of activities such as conducting market and competitive research as well as defining features and capabilities for the DNA product.  You may also work to support our Science organization with data management, access, as well as scientific tools and platform elements to advance the scientific discovery and capability of the Ancestry Science team.  You will work closely with our UX, content, science and  Engineering teams to bring innovative solutions to our customers. This fast paced environment will allow for the wearing of many hats and having significant ownership of driving cross functional execution.

What you will do:

  • Tackle complex and challenging problems that play a central role in how customers access, understand and act upon the results of their DNA results

  • Examine the most impactful growth opportunities across the market, partnership and product spectrum and create solutions to achieve key metrics.

  • Partner with User Experience Designer(s), Marketing, Science, Customer Support, and Legal teams to understand key needs and improve the user experience

  • Work with the Product Management team to prioritize your work with the Engineering teams and guide the execution through product delivery

  • Research and establish key metrics that will measure success of the products/features

Who You Are: 

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience

  • Ability to de-risk: can be creative and come up with ways to validate hypotheses quickly

  • Background in human genetics, animal genetics, and/or genomic sciences

  • Proven ability to take feedback and learn fast

  • Understand how to create simple and intuitive user experiences

  • Excellent working relationship with engineering and UX

  • Ability to talk with anyone from engineers to legal, business development, science, program management, and marketing partners as well as customers, each in their own language

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivelent

  • Product management professional who enjoys the challenge of innovating and building great customer experiences

As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $104,400 - $130,500 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
