JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Product Manager - POSRemote, working Eastern Time

The Senior Product Manager, POS is the accountable owner of one or more brands point-of-sale and payment product ecosystem within Driven Brands. This role holds end-to-end authority over the POS roadmap, configuration standards, vendor contracts, release governance, compliance controls, and disaster recovery — translating brand strategy into technology outcomes while protecting the integrity, security, and resilience.

This is a senior individual-contributor and cross-functional leadership role. The Senior PM exercises formal decision-making authority over roadmap prioritization, configuration and pricing approvals, access and RBAC governance, change control, PCI/SOX control design, and vendor scope — escalating only the highest-level risks and strategic tradeoffs to executive leadership. The role is equally accountable for execution and for reporting: surfacing roadmap progress, delivery status, and risk posture to leadership on a regular cadence.

What You'll Drive:

Roadmap & Product Strategy

  • Maintain, publish, and continuously refine the POS product roadmap, aligning capabilities to brand objectives, operational efficiency targets, and enterprise architecture direction.

  • Prioritize the intake backlog against brand objectives, capacity constraints, and risk exposure — communicating tradeoffs and sequencing decisions to brand presidents and IT leadership.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of POS and payment system initiatives, from inception through delivery and post-implementation steady-state support.

  • Serve as the brand’s primary subject matter expert on POS and payment system configuration, maintaining authoritative documentation of all settings, capabilities, and dependencies.

  • Report roadmap progress, delivery status, and risk posture to IT and executive leadership on a regular cadence, ensuring visibility and informed decision-making at all levels.

Configuration Governance & Change Control

  • Define, document, and enforce POS configuration standards and guardrails across all brands and locations, ensuring consistency and reducing operational risk.

  • Hold approval authority for all material configuration and pricing changes — evaluating business impact, downstream integration risk, and compliance implications before sign-off.

  • Enforce formal change control processes for all POS and payment system modifications, ensuring proper testing, validation, and rollback planning precede any production deployment.

  • Collect and translate business requests into user stories and technical requirements, documenting configuration changes and new feature development with POS vendors.

  • Partner with POS Business Systems Analysts to test and validate vendor releases and patches, ensuring no disruption to existing configurations or integrations.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Own vendor requirements definition, SOW scope, and delivery outcome accountability — ensuring contractual commitments translate to measurable operational results.

  • Govern integration contracts, APIs, and data ownership agreements with all POS and payment ecosystem partners, maintaining clear documentation and enforcing contractual terms.

  • Manage and build relationships with POS and payment system vendors, consultants, third-party administrators, and other applicable vendors to ensure they meet Driven Brands’ performance, compliance, and service expectations.

  • Lead technical evaluation during POS and technology vendor selection, ensuring alignment with corporate architecture, infrastructure, integration standards, and compliance requirements.

Release Planning & Integration Integrity

  • Lead POS release planning and cutover decisions, including environment readiness, configuration validation, integration health checks, and go / no-go authorization.

  • Coordinate deployment activities for new POS implementations or major upgrades, including environment setup, configuration validation, and integration readiness across all affected brands.

  • Oversee the technical integrity of all POS integrations — vendor APIs, custom connectors, and interfaces with ERP, Inventory, and Customer Data systems — in partnership with cross-functional IT teams.

  • Develop, maintain, and catalogue project documentation including requirements, risk identification and mitigation plans, test scripts, deployment playbooks, and cutover procedures.

Access Governance & Identity Management

  • Define and approve RBAC role models and access control frameworks for POS and payment systems, ensuring least-privilege principles are applied consistently across all brands.

  • Review and approve access exceptions, documenting compensating controls and expiry terms for any deviation from standard RBAC policies.

  • Partner with IT Security and Audit to ensure access provisioning, de-provisioning, and periodic access reviews meet PCI DSS and SOX requirements.

Security, Compliance & Audit

  • Own PCI DSS and SOX control design for POS and payment systems — defining control objectives, evidence requirements, and testing procedures in collaboration with InfoSec and Internal Audit.

  • Serve as the primary POS technical contact for external and internal audit engagements, providing audit evidence packages, control narratives, and remediation plans with documented timelines.

  • Ensure all POS and payment systems adhere to relevant regulatory and security standards, and that all transaction flows are secure, auditable, and compliant.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Own DR plans and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) for POS and critical payment integrations, ensuring documentation is current, tested, and operationally viable.

  • Lead annual DR testing exercises, coordinating with operations, IT infrastructure, and vendor partners — documenting results, gaps, and remediation actions.

  • Ensure recovery procedures are embedded in deployment playbooks and cutover plans to minimize operational risk during system transitions.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Escalation Management

  • Resolve cross-functional POS risks and escalations, acting as the authoritative decision-maker for issues that span multiple brands, systems, or vendor relationships.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all POS and payment system stakeholders, providing status updates and gathering feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to functional leaders, providing process and technology solutions to complex business needs across the Driven Brands portfolio.

  • Use appropriate and effective communication methods to keep senior management and cross-functional partners informed throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of product management or solution delivery experience, preferably in retail, franchise, or multi-location environments.

  • Proven experience managing POS systems, payment processing technologies, and leading complex system deployments in a multi-brand or multi-location environment.

  • Demonstrated authority in configuration governance, change control, and RBAC/access management frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, API frameworks, and integration patterns (ERP, Inventory, CRM).

  • Working knowledge of PCI DSS and SOX compliance requirements as they apply to POS and payment systems.

  • Proven track record of delivering multiple concurrent strategic projects within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.

  • Experience owning vendor relationships, negotiating SOW scope, and holding third parties accountable to delivery outcomes.

  • Experience owning or contributing to DR planning, RTO definition, and annual DR test execution.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including executive-level reporting.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills with a high degree of initiative.

Added Fuel if You Have:
  • Experience in a franchise or multi-brand retail operating model (automotive services, QSR, specialty retail).

  • Familiarity with audit evidence preparation, control design documentation, and remediation planning for SOX and PCI audits.

  • Experience using data and analytics platforms (BigQuery, Looker, Power BI) to drive POS operational insights.

  • Exposure to AI/ML or automation tooling applied to POS operations, inventory, or customer experience.

  • Ability to keep current on emerging POS and payment technologies proactively and independently.
