About the RoleThe Mail Intelligence team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the strategy, vision, and execution of Mail Extractions and Summarizations. This role is at the core of our mission to transform the inbox into a personalized, intelligent platform. You will shape how we extract structured information (e.g., receipts, packages, tasks, reservations) and deliver high-quality summarizations that save time, reduce clutter, and unlock new business opportunities.
Success in this role requires deep technical product management expertise, strong AI/ML foundations, and the ability to deliver scalable, impactful solutions at Yahoo Mail scale.
ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for extractions and summarizations in Yahoo Mail.
Partner with engineering and research to design and deploy AI/ML systems that operate efficiently at massive consumer scale.
Translate business goals into clear product requirements that balance user experience, platform efficiency, and business impact.
Ensure extractions are reliable, accurate, and extensible across multiple content types (packages, receipts, financial docs, events, etc.).
Drive innovation in summarization capabilities to create time-savings, reduce inbox clutter, and improve user decision-making.
Partner with analytics teams to define KPIs that tie platform enhancements to user engagement, retention, and monetization.
Champion a user-first, quality-obsessed mindset across all extractions and summarization use cases.
Collaborate cross-functionally (engineering, research, analytics, design, partnerships) to ensure seamless execution.
7+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent in technical platforms or applied AI/ML product roles.
Proven track record of shipping complex software products at scale, ideally in consumer environments.
Strong foundation in AI/ML concepts, including embeddings and MLOps.
Familiarity with information retrieval (parsing receipts, tasks, orders, reservations, etc.).
Mission-driven, collaborative, and low-ego leader who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from executives to engineers.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to align stakeholders across multiple teams.
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their implications on extraction and data usage.
Background in taxonomies and ontologies to support structured data extraction.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and API integrations.
Prior experience building extraction pipelines or summarization systems in email, messaging, or similar domains.

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
