We’re creating products that unlock new value at the intersection of discovery, engagement, and conversion. Button’s Mission is to empower the companies shaping the creator and affiliate economy - fueling mobile growth with innovation and new paths to monetization. Our vision is an internet where all marketing is performance-based, everyone wins, and our innovation in the creator and affiliate economy lays the foundation for a new era of growth.
About the Role
Button’s unique visibility across traffic, links, and conversions creates a powerful opportunity to enable SKU-level retail media and attribution. As Senior Product Manager, Data Platform, you will transform this data into an operationally performant asset—defining key data fields, taxonomies, and quality standards, and partnering with engineering and machine learning teams to make the data usable for targeting, delivery, insights, and reporting.
This is a highly technical, systems-oriented role. You’ll deeply understand the needs of Button’s customers—retailers, publishers, creators, creator networks, advertisers, and marketplaces—and translate those into precise data product requirements that unlock measurable value.
What You’ll Do
- Define and evolve Button’s data architecture to support SKU-level retail media:
- Establish product identifiers (ASIN, SKU, GTIN) and standardized category taxonomies using external enrichment sources.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party or retailer-provided data sources to expand coverage.
- Establish product identifiers (ASIN, SKU, GTIN) and standardized category taxonomies using external enrichment sources.
- Collaborate with data engineering to structure and operationalize the data lake into a performant, flexible asset for both real-time and batch use cases.
- Implement attribution frameworks defined by other product areas (Advertiser/Seller, Creator, Full Service Network), ensuring accurate matching logic and reporting.
- Set and enforce data quality standards—completeness, freshness, ID resolution accuracy—with clear SLAs and accountability.
- Develop a roadmap for enrichment and ML-driven capabilities such as product similarity, targeting optimization, and predictive performance analytics.
- Partner with Legal to ensure data use is neutral, privacy-safe, and compliant with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA).
- Deliver and scale interfaces—from internal APIs and basic reporting to external partner exports and advanced dashboards.
- Work cross-functionally with other PMs to ensure the data platform supports their use cases through detailed PRDs and prioritization frameworks.
- Drive impact and scale: focus on revenue-driving use cases, operating at the scale of billions of dollars in monthly commerce.
- Define success metrics such as percentage of SKU-level data mapped and normalized, number of retailers standardized, and revenue attributed to data-supported retail media products.
Who You Are
- 6–10 years of product management experience with data, analytics, or machine learning platforms.
- Proven ability to translate business and product needs into technical data specifications and system requirements.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data quality management.
- Experience designing structured data assets that power real business outcomes.
- Comfortable reasoning about privacy and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) and the implications of data processor/controller status.
- Hands-on, collaborative, and systems-minded; thrives working with engineers and data scientists.
- Practical and iterative: ships MVPs to unlock value and builds for extensibility over time.
- Strong communicator who can align technical and business stakeholders.
- Location flexible; New York preferred.
