An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing

Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by surging manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet growing needs.

Before Crux, the capital markets supporting this transformation remained opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a central capital markets platform designed specifically for the next century of American energy and industry. We unlock faster decision making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated investment.

The Opportunity

The traditional process for financing clean energy is manual & onerous. We’ve built products that solve part of that problem but now need to expand its breadth & depth in a rigorous, analytical way. We’re excited to add a Senior Product/customer focused Engineer to help us with this!

Our tech stack is composed of Typescript, React, SQL, built on top of Vercel and Supabase PaaS/BaaS. Given the complexity of our domain, we look for folks who are deeply motivated to learn, do not hesitate to ask questions, and are committed to perpetual learning in order to leverage the latest technologies and tools (e.g. AI) to execute on our mission.

We are an experienced and highly collaborative group of ten that has prioritized team diversity from the beginning. We take psychological safety and inclusion seriously, and actively encourage sharing lots of ideas and opinions - it’s how we do our best work!

What you’ll do
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to build features that support the renewable energy transition

  • Support customers and/or domain subject matter experts directly with experimentation and prototyping

  • Write readable, well-structured code with an eye towards usability, performance, and scalability

  • Write tests and documentation alongside your code for quality and maintainability

  • Participate in engineering learning and coworking sessions in order to build our team culture and developing our technical best practices

What We Are Looking For
  • 6+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience:

  • B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, related field; or equivalent combination of education and direct professional experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Javascript/Typescript, React, and SQL

  • You are excited to propose solutions to product and UX problems

  • You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and desire to learn and grow

  • You enjoy building and cultivating a collaborative and inclusive team environment, and have worked on fully remote teams

  • Authorized to work in the US or Canada

  • Benefits

    • Healthcare: We cover 100% of premiums for employees with a variety of plans on Aetna (nationwide) and Kaiser (WA and California) and subsidize 70% for dependents (total as a group), if relevant.

    • Dental & vision: We cover 100% of premiums for employees and 50% for dependents (each), if relevant.

    • Holidays: 10 company holidays per year.

    • Paid time off: 20 days per year.

    • 401k: We support a 401k account but don't have a matching program set up at this time (typical for an early-stage startup).

    • Parental leave: 16 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.

  • Compensation:

    • Total cash compensation: $160,000 - $200,000+, company wide bonus tied to revenue goals ($20,000 - $30,000). Not inclusive of equity value.

    • Stock options in a rapidly growing company.
