Lead the design evolution of MaxPreps' customer experiences, conducting research, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring others while shaping product strategy.
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead the evolution of MaxPreps customer experiences here at Playon. You’ll be a critical member of a cross-functional team, helping shape product direction and elevating design standards, while delivering exceptional experiences to millions of users. This is an exciting opportunity to operate with ownership, influence product strategy, and mentor others—while continuing to grow in your own career.
Product Designers are true influential leaders within our teams. They help define product strategy and direction, set the bar for design quality, and own the entire customer journey. As a senior team member, you will not only guide the product’s vision but carry that vision through from concept to execution to launch—making an impact at scale.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
-Elevate the user experience (UX) design practice within the organization, resulting in a increase in consumer adoption.
-Conduct user research and analysis to inform design decisions and validate concepts, driving increased user engagement across the platform.
In This Role, You Can Expect To
- Lead design vision and execution for the MaxPreps product, shaping direction for the product team to create an exceptional and unmatched interactive experience.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and stakeholders to deliver thoughtful, high-impact experiences.
- Lead the creation of sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to validate ideas with end users and guide product decisions.
- Provide comprehensive specs, interactive prototypes, and documentation for smooth handoff to development.
- Present and communicate your work across teams and leadership, aligning stakeholders and championing user needs.
- Maintain, evolve, and contribute to a scalable design system that supports consistency, speed, and growth.
- Work closely with marketing and brand partners when needed to align experience design across the user journey.
- Collaborate within Agile teams to shape requirements, develop user stories, and support ongoing iteration throughout the product lifecycle.
- Be proactive and autonomous owning your work and taking responsibility for both strategy and execution.
To Thrive In This Role, You Have
- 6+ years of experience designing digital web or mobile products, with a portfolio or PDF that reflects leadership in both vision and execution.
- A portfolio that demonstrates advanced understanding of UI/UX best practices, showcasing end-to-end design thinking across complex systems, scalable solutions, and business impact.
- Proven experience translating data-rich content into impactful consumer experiences
- A strong storyteller and communicator - you translate complex problems into elegant design concepts, and communicate those clearly to executives, peers, and partners.
- You rely on both qualitative and quantitative data to inform your design strategy, validate ideas, and iterate on user experiences.
- A keen eye for visual detail and interaction design - you apply high standards to usability, accessibility, and design consistency across platforms.
- Deep experience driving iterative design with Product and Engineering teams, discovering solutions that exceed user expectations and business goals.
How You Play
- Ownership over Participation- You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
- Team over Stars- You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
- Growth over Comfort- You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
- Fairness over Popularity- You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
