The Role
We're seeking a Director, Senior Counsel (Assistant General Counsel) to join our team and provide strategic legal guidance across our fast-growing digital health company. The ideal candidate will thrive in our dynamic environment, combining deep legal expertise with business acumen to support our product innovation while navigating the complex regulatory landscape of healthcare technology.
Responsibilities
- Product Counseling: Provide practice legal guidance on product development, feature releases, and AI initiatives
- Privacy & Compliance: Support privacy team and ensure compliance with HIPAA, state privacy laws, and other applicable regulations
- Commercial Transactions: Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and customer contracts
- Regulatory Affairs: Monitor and advise on healthcare regulations, FDA requirements for clinical decision support, and emerging AI regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify legal risks and develop practical solutions that balance business objectives with legal compliance
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, customer support, and executive teams to drive business initiatives forward
Required Qualifications
- JD degree with active bar membership
- 8+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in technology, SaaS and/or healthcare sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in privacy law (HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR)
- Experience advising on SaaS products and services
- Strong understanding of AI legal and ethical considerations
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience balancing strategic vision with tactical execution
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business guidance
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare or health tech industry experience
- Experience with insurance billing regulations and compliance
- Background in FDA regulations, particularly around clinical decision support tools
- Experience with PCI compliance
- Prior in-house experience at a growth-stage technology company

Base Compensation Range
$150,000 - $226,000 annually
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
