Senior Power Platform Technical Lead
We are seeking a skilled Senior Power Platform Technical Lead to design, architect, and personally build solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse. This role is hands-on and hands-to-keyboard, requiring deep, day-to-day development work in addition to technical leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of business processes and solution architecture and can translate requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient applications through direct development, not oversight alone.
This is a role that combines active development with strong client-facing skills to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term platform sustainability.
This role can be hybrid in Indianapolis or 100% remote, supporting EST hours (including some earlier morning meetings).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the design of custom applications using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), with direct responsibility for building core components.
- Design, develop, and maintain workflow automation and business processes using Power Automate.
- Build and integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and third-party systems.
- Understand how Power BI dashboards integrate with the Power Platform; hands-on dashboard/report development is beneficial but not required.
- Actively develop and configure Dataverse environments, data models, security roles, and integrations.
- Define, implement, and enforce best practices for security, performance, and governance through real-world application.
- Lead client engagements to gather requirements, make technical recommendations, and implement solutions directly.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues across Power Platform applications.
- Stay current with new features and updates within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem and apply them pragmatically.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and building solutions with Microsoft Power Platform.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
- Experience integrating with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365.
- Proficiency in Power Fx, JSON, and basic scripting.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, security roles, and environment management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to justify and defend technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate or related certifications.
- Experience with Azure services, API integrations, and custom connectors.
- Experience implementing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for Power Platform using solution-based development, including configuring and managing Power Pipelines (automated or manual) across DEV/TEST/PROD environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power Platform.
