The Technology Department at Dimensional leverages the rapidly evolving state of the art to engineer scalable, innovative, and research driven solutions to improve our client’s financial lives.
The Platform Engineers at Dimensional are focused on leading, designing and developing the platform and services that underpin all of all Dimensional’ s applications and business processes across a variety of technical domains. Services that support the software development process are key components of the platform, as they provide our engineering teams with tools, processes, and infrastructure to develop software for our business.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer to join our team and own the platform’s strategy for application services. This strategy includes supporting the platform’s current capabilities in addition to evolving them for future use.

What you might work on:
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Dimensional, you will have the opportunity to work on foundational systems using software to define, secure, and automate a sophisticated service offering consumed by application developers, business users, and clients to achieve their goals and Dimensional’s technology strategy.
Design, implement, and own software and systems that comprise platform services.
Develop software solutions using scripting, back-end, and/or front-end technologies.
Build automation to support the configuration, testing, and deployment of software and infrastructure.
Engage with application development teams to drive event driven integration best practices and assist with their utilization of tools, processes, and services.
Lead projects comprising of multiple teams to deliver business goals.
Collaborate with subject matter experts in a variety of areas to drive the success of our developers, business users, and clients.
Architect and implement automated versions of technical business processes.
Partner with technical product owners to define service roadmaps.
Engage with internal customers and assist with their utilization of platform services
Own the strategy for one or more services including design/implementation, roadmap, and transition to operations.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and drive changes to service offerings, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
5-10+ years of experience developing a modern software-driven infrastructure and/or platform services.
5+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and supporting developer platforms, systems, and services.
Experience developing software in Python and/or JavaScript.
Expertise with Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible).
Familiarity with Linux and related technologies.
Familiarity with Windows and related technologies.
Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and the tools that support them.
Comfortable learning and troubleshooting vendor software systems.
Experience with most of the following: cloud and on-prem compute, storage, networking, CI/CD, event messaging, workflow orchestration, monitoring/alerting, relational/noSQL/cache databases, containers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate complex concepts to various audiences helping them to understand the benefits of technologies and recommended course of action.
Preferred Competencies:
Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
Experience working in or with an SRE or DevOps team
Financial services industry experience
