Who We Are

At Trility Consulting®, we’ve built a strong, remote-work culture where people thrive, grow, and support each other – earning us Great Place to Work® Certification. Headquartered in Central Iowa, we embrace flexible schedules and collaboration across geographically distributed teams serving clients from all corners of the United States and globally.

We seek team members with the grit necessary to forge paths where none previously existed, to get back up when circumstances knock them down, to adapt to the changing needs of the client even when it is uncomfortable, and to deliver on our commitments. Candidates must respect and value people, recognize that over-communication is barely good enough, thrive on solving complex problems, have a passion for building teams, and know that delivering what a client actually values is more important than their own predispositions. They understand value proposition, love delivering value, and take pride in learning the expansive and ever-changing business of clients. Candidates are self-motivated and relentlessly working to become more today than they were yesterday.

What You Will Do

Trility Consulting is actively seeking a Senior Platform & AI Consultant who is an expert in the field and a powerhouse on the keyboard. In this role, you will partner with Trility clients to design, build, and enhance modern cloud-native applications and platform services. You will work across backend APIs, frontend user experiences, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and emerging AI-assisted development practices to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

This position is ideal for a consultant who enjoys operating across the full technology stack, from application development and database design to infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building production software, improving developer experience, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery.

This is a remote position with 1099 and W2 options.

  • 5+ years of experience building and supporting production software applications
  • Strong experience developing backend services using Node.js and/or Python
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs in production environments
  • Full-stack development experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, or similar technologies
  • Experience designing database schemas, implementing migrations, and optimizing application performance
  • Hands-on experience building and supporting cloud-native solutions within AWS
  • Experience with serverless and container-based architectures including services such as AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, SNS, SES, and related cloud services
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, automated deployments, and modern source control workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Familiarity with observability, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting distributed applications in production environments
  • Experience building secure, scalable applications with an understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets management, and cloud security best practices
  • Ability to work across multiple application domains, services, and shared codebases while maintaining high standards of software quality
  • Experience working in agile software development environments using collaborative engineering practices such as pair programming, code reviews, and iterative delivery
  • Interest in AI-assisted software development and experience leveraging tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, AI SDKs, automated code review tooling, or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within financial services, insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries
  • Experience implementing complex business rules, calculation engines, or financial processing systems
  • Experience developing reusable Terraform modules and multi-environment deployment patterns
  • Experience working with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or real-time application patterns
  • Experience building internal developer tooling, AI-powered workflows, or engineering productivity solutions
