A Little About the Role

Procare is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to oversee all aspects of payroll operations for 450+ employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. This role requires a strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of payroll systems, and a commitment to data integrity, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead end-to-end semi-monthly payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Enter, maintain, and process payroll data including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
  • Ensure accurate processing of taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll deductions
  • Review and audit time sheets, leave balances, and time-off requests for accuracy
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data confidentiality
  • Audit discrepancies, report findings, and ensure timely resolution
  • Manage tax rates, filings, and reconciliation of payroll tax deposits
  • Process offboarding and final pay for terminated employees
  • Respond to employment verifications and inquiries from auditors and agencies
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate general ledger postings and reconciliations
  • Oversee year-end processes, including W-2s and other required filings
  • Lead payroll-related reporting, testing, and audits
  • Serve as UKG Payroll and UTA subject matter expert, support employee and manager inquiries
  • Provide reporting, support business initiatives, and participate in special projects
  • Evaluate internal controls and implement system/process improvements
  • Stay abreast payroll laws and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • 5+ years' of multi-state payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll operations, tax laws, labor regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (UKG Required)
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical evaluation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and ethical practice
  • Experience in reporting and data storytelling
  • CPP certification and degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field are preferred but not required

Salary

$65,000-$80,000/year DOE

Location

While this is a hybrid role and our preference is a candidate located in Atlanta, GA or Denver, CO.
