Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail‑oriented Senior Paralegal to join our Product Legal team. In this role, you will support Product Counsel with day‑to‑day legal operations for our consumer products, help drive execution on workflows, and ensure that legal processes run smoothly and on time. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Counsel and cross‑functional partners (e.g., Product, CX, Compliance, Finance) to keep matters moving and maintain high‑quality work product.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Legal content management
    • Manage the end-to-end process of updating legal webpages, including intake, staging, routing for approval, tracking, and archiving.
    • Own updates across key surfaces such as User Agreements, marketing terms of service, legal homepages, geo-specific landing pages, disclosures, and policy pages.
  • Incident triage
    • Triage incidents during regular business hours.
    • Approve routine incident communications based on established playbooks and escalate substantive or novel issues.
  • Regulatory coordination and compliance support
    • Coordinate information gathering for regulatory exams and responses.
    • Organize, track, and maintain artifacts prepared for regulators.
  • Customer Experience (CX) support
    • Review routine CX inquiries and Help Center content updates for alignment with existing legal guidance, escalating material changes or new issues to Product Counsel.
    • Partner with CX to support periodic reviews of content.
  • General operational support
    • Assist Product Counsel with administrative and operational tracking for ongoing projects.
    • Maintain trackers, logs, and light project plans so that Product Legal has clear visibility into work in flight and upcoming deadlines.
  • Other responsibilities as needed

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a legal support role.
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or in‑house legal department (including corporate, commercial, product, privacy,  regulatory, or litigation support).
  • Experience supporting recurring legal workflows (e.g., content updates, regulatory responses, template maintenance, CX escalations) and working with multiple stakeholders across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and concisely for non‑lawyers.
  • Comfort working with documents, spreadsheets, and content management tools (e.g., Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, contract tools, CMS, trackers).
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when to escalate issues to attorneys.
  • High integrity, discretion, and comfort working with confidential information.
  • Team‑oriented and collaborative; able to work across Legal and with cross‑functional partners in CX, Product, Compliance, Finance, and other teams.
  • Bias toward action and efficient execution; comfortable operating in an environment with evolving priorities and tight timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in fintech, financial services, crypto, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Prior in‑house experience at a technology company.
  • Familiarity with one or more of:
    • Product counseling and user‑facing legal content
    • Regulatory exams and responses
    • Experience working with knowledge‑management or ticketing tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, CX tooling, contract lifecycle management systems).
