The Opportunity
As Senior Officer, Client Engagement, you will be an active champion of our mission, working with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from high net-worth individuals and family office clients to foundations and corporations. You will be guiding onboarding, coordinating multi‑party deliverables, and maintaining rigorous service operations that uphold ImpactAssets’ client-first approach.
The Senior Officer acts as an internal advocate for clients—translating their goals into actionable briefs, elevating client insights to leadership, and supporting the continuous improvement of processes and playbooks that enhance the client experience and expands our client’s impact. This role also helps drive new business through referrals and strategic engagement activities.
The Senior Officer, Client Engagement role is a full time, remote position and can work from anywhere in the US. As a remote, people-first culture, we care deeply about our team members’ connections to one another and as such, travel 2-3 times per year to company events will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management & Service Excellence
- Serve as a primary day‑to‑day contact for an assigned book of clients (HNW individuals, family offices, foundations, and corporates), ensuring timely responses, clear next steps, and consistently high service standards.
- Support client onboarding from signed engagement through full activation (documentation collection, digital tools access, and portfolio/account setup) in close partnership with teammates and BD colleagues.
- Plan, schedule, and prepare client meetings, account reviews, and educational touchpoints; assemble materials (presentations, performance snapshots, service metrics) and capture follow‑ups in CRM.
- Act as the client’s internal advocate to triage requests and able to make decisions independently, when within operating procedures. Able to shepherd deliverables across Investments, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Marketing and Client Service, balancing client needs with internal processes and timelines.
- Maintain accurate CRM records (profiles, meeting notes, tasks, next actions) and support team‑level reporting on service levels, onboarding status, and retention/expansion indicators. Understand and help maintain client profiles.
- Identify routine process improvements that enhance onboarding efficiency, client communications, and handoffs; document and socialize best practices with the CE team.
Strategic Engagement
- Manage a more complex and strategically important client portfolio, including higher‑value accounts, multi‑stakeholder families, foundations, corporate entities, or clients with specialized needs.
- Set annual engagement plans and goals for client portfolio to hit organizational targets including but not limited to asset gathering, product asset gathering, referral goals, cross-selling (UpImpact) and other new business goals.
- Serve as an escalation point for client issues, nuanced service requests, or situations requiring judgment beyond standard operating procedures—resolving challenges proactively and coordinating with senior CE leadership when needed.
- Translate client goals (impact objectives, time horizon, liquidity, risk tolerance) into clear internal briefs that inform recommended next steps and education plans and escalate complex needs.
- Capture client feedback and recurring themes; route insights to CE leadership and cross‑functional partners to refine playbooks, FAQs, and client‑facing materials.
- Represent the organization professionally in client meetings and selected events; support logistics and follow‑through.
- Perform additional responsibilities aligned with the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in client‑facing relationship management, account management, client service, or consultative support within investment/wealth management, private funds, philanthropy/DAF, or impact investing.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated success managing sophisticated stakeholder relationships coordinating multi‑party deliverables and driving follow‑through.
- Strong working knowledge of public and private market investment terms and concepts, with the ability to speak credibly and translate them for clients at varying levels of sophistication.
- Substantive experience in impact investing and/or values-aligned investment strategies, with the ability to communicate impact value propositions credibly and compellingly.
Knowledge and Skills
- Impact fluency (working knowledge): Understands core concepts of impact/values‑aligned investing and the organization’s offerings; knows when to bring in specialists.
- Service operations & organization: Exceptional attention to detail; reliably coordinates meetings, agendas, materials, and follow‑ups across multiple concurrent client workstreams.
- Process discipline: Consistent use of CRM for notes, tasks, and pipeline stage updates related to onboarding and ongoing engagement; supports accurate reporting.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment when handling confidential information and investor relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams required.
- Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools, such as Box and Asana.
- Experience working in a virtual working environment.
- Knowledge and passion for using investing as a means by which to engender social or environmental impact.
