This role is a 1 year contract, and is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3 days onsite our corporate office in Rolle, CH.

Your Mission
As our Senior NGS Bioinformatician you will lead data exploration efforts to address practical questions that arise during product development. You will work with diverse datasets that vary by gene panel, sample type, enrichment technology, sequencing platform, and more. Your work will involve assessing NGS kit and chemistry performance, evaluating the analytical accuracy of SOPHiA GENETICS products, and conducting in-depth, product-focused analyses.Your insights will directly contribute to the evolution of our products. This may include proposing and implementing improvements to probe design, analytical tools (pipeline modules), and overall pipeline architecture.
The vale you bring
- Run SOPHIA GENETICS NGS pipelines in default mode
- Modify some scripts/modules manually for research purpose
- Understand the functions of each script/module in SG pipeline
- Carry out quality assessment and analytical performance on different chemicals or platforms by established metrics
- Perform data exploration on other practical questions related to product feasibility study to provide actionable insights
- Explore new technical/biological features (e.g. UMI diversity) in deep to provide scientific insights and present the results logically
- Analyze dataset from collaborators and provide exploration results on time
- Join the discussion with collaborators for project progress and present the results
- Prepare NGS analysis results and present to customers and prospective clients at conferences and workshops
- Minimum of 4 years Post-Doc experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field; Or PhD degree and equivalent relevant working experience
- Extensive experience with targeted sequencing data analysis
- Hands on experience analyzing NGS data
- Experience with the research, design and/or development of regulated medical devices is a plus
- Strong background in cancer cell biology is a plus
- Excellent communication & presentation skills (English is a must, any other language is an asset)
