Senior Network Security Specialist
The Senior Network Security Specialist will use strong technical skills and act as the lead technical authority for the design, evaluation, and review of secure enterprise network architectures. The person will serve as a trusted advisor by giving strategic guidance, performing detailed security reviews, and defining tangible remediation actions to protect critical applications, platforms, and data, while working closely with teams to ensure security supports business goals.
What You Will Do:
- Design and review secure network and enterprise architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
- Provide technical leadership on network security principles, controls, and best practices.
- Identify security vulnerabilities and provide clear, actionable remediation plans.
- Lead security-focused design reviews for infrastructure and platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and infrastructure teams to embed security into solution design and deployment workflows.
- Mentor and guide cybersecurity engineers and analysts.
- Ensure network security controls remain aligned with regulatory, audit, and risk requirements.
- Use platforms such as ServiceNow and Azure DevOps for workflow, tracking, and documentation.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive IT infrastructure experience, with a focus on secure network architecture
- Proven ability to design and secure network architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on actionable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ongoing awareness of emerging security technologies, risks, and compliance requirements.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- A recognized security certification (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, or similar preferred).
- Expertise in architecting secure systems using a layered, defense-in-depth approach.
- Experience implementing NIST CSF, or similar standards in operational environments.
- Understanding of SASE, ZTNA, and modern remote-access architectures.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic:
- Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Communicating Complex Concepts:
- Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, plain language appropriate to the audience.
Consulting:
- Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
Cybersecurity Standards and Policies:
- Knowledge of developing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures; ability to develop and communicate policies, standards and procedures that guide interactions with customers.
Cybersecurity Risk Management:
- Knowledge of tools, techniques, approaches, and processes of cybersecurity risk management; ability to ensure organizational network operation and minimize negative effect by cybersecurity risks.
Information Security Technologies:
- Knowledge of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with information security issues; ability to protect information security across the organization using encryption technologies and appropriate security software.
